The company formerly known as ShelterBox Australia
has changed its name to Disaster Aid Australia.
It remains a project of the Rotary Club of Endeavour Hills in District 9820

program to ease the suffering of those in need.

Dear fellow Australian Rotarians,
As you may be aware from our letterhead,
our affiliation with the ShelterBox Trust (SBT)
has ended and our organisation has changed its name
from ShelterBox Australia to Disaster Aid Australia (DAA).
Whilst the termination of the affiliation involved the temporary
withholding of the remittance of funds donated by you,
our Board has,
as is its obligation and acting on professional advice,
acted to fulfil its charter and mandate in respect
to the money donated by Australian Rotarians
and others to provide ShelterBoxes
to people in need of disaster relief.
We are pleased to confirm that upon receipt of a signed undertaking
from SBT that all monies donated
(i.e. those monies which were temporarily withheld)
will be applied as per our Agreement,
the funds received in February and March were transferred
on 16 April in accordance with this Agreement.
Effective 30 March, 2010 Disaster Aid Australia
is no longer an affiliate of SBT
and cannot accept funds for and on behalf of SBT.
If you or your Club have donated funds since 30 March,
then unless you direct otherwise those funds
will be donated in their entirety by 31 May, 2010 to SBT.
In fact, all monies including the balance in our administration account
will be donated to SBT.
We are otherwise in the process of attending to a smooth handover to SBT,
including the transfer of IP and domain names.
The Board of Disaster Aid Australia
and the members of the Rotary Club of Endeavour Hills
are very proud of what we have achieved with the support
of the Australian Rotary community and the significant contribution
you have made to the ShelterBox global community.
The Club has unanimously resolved to continue

13th Annual Ken Collins Address
The Dr Ken Collins Address has been a highlight of the Rotary year
for Western Australian Rotarians for the past twelve years.
The purpose of the Address is to provide a venue for International speakers
to update Western Australian Rotarians
and their partners about our Rotary charity –
The Rotary Foundation –
and to give insights into the future of the Foundation and Rotary in general.
The Address has always attracted a very high profile speaker
from either The Rotary Foundation or Rotary International.
This year, 2010, is no exception
as Rotary International President (RIP) Ray Klinginsmith
will be the keynote speaker for the thirteenth
Annual Dr Ken Collins Address on Monday, 29th November 2010.
Ray Klinginsmith, an attorney, served as general counsel,
professor of business administration,
and dean of administration for Truman State University
(formerly Northeast Missouri State University) for more than 20 years.
The President of the Chariton Valley Association for Handicapped Citizens
since its inception in 1982,
Ray received the 1988 Parent/Caretaker Award
from the Missouri Planning Council for Developmental Disabilities.
Ray is an alumnus of The Rotary Foundation's Ambassadorial Scholarships program,
which took him to South Africa in 1961.
He has served as RI Director, RI Board Executive Committee Chair,
Foundation Trustee and Vice Chair, Future Vision Committee Member,
Council on Legislation Chair, and 2008 Los Angeles Convention Committee Chair.
A Major Donor, he is a recipient of the Foundation's Distinguished Service Award.
Ray and his wife, Judie, live in Kirksville, USA.

from Papua New Guinea who was awarded a
TRF Ambassadorial Scholarship in 1988
to obtain a Bachelor of Nursing Science Degree in Adelaide.
Following this she received a scholarship from AusAID
to do her Masters.
On completion of this she served as CEO of Mt Hagen Hospital,
university lecturer in Goroka, consultant to AusAID,
CEO of Ltyentye Apurte Aboriginal Health Service in Central Australia
before settling in Cairns

after ten years work and beaurocracy,
installed a community wishing well at Hillarys Boat Harbour.
The bronze sculpture of three dolphins
was created by Joan and Charlie Smith at their Gidgiegannup studio.
Joan Smith agreed to sculpt three dolphins after Rajah, Mila and Echo
all died suddenly at the harbour in 1999.

A Collingwood fan dies on match day and goes to heaven
in his Collingwood jumper.
He knocks on the old pearly gates
and out walks St Peter in a Eagles scarf.
