Last night we had a very enjoyable evening helping sort clothes for

Dress for Success Perth.

They do some amazing work in our community,

and we were excited to have a small insight into part of what they do.

For more information, have a look at their Facebook page and website.

Past District Governor John Iriks from the Rotary Club of Kwinana

shared the important role PALZ can play in the lives

 of Professionals with Alzemeihers.

The national group provides the opportunity for people living

with alzeheimers to meet regularly and retain the connections

that make them who they are as a person.

With the support of her very proud family,

Mckenna Wadley then shared the highlights of her

 recent experience at #RYPEN.

She reported that the Youth Enrichment camp took participants

out of their comfort zone with zip lining and rock climbing.

Over her mobile phone free weekend, Mckenna learnt

about self-management and mental health as well as making new friends.

Walking to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Alta-1 Alternative Education

Vocational Service Director Kay Durrant introduced
Grahame and Nicole Walker from Alta-1, Joondalup.
This senior secondary and middle school alternative offers a recovery pathway
for students ages 12 - 19 years from all regions, enabling them to obtain
a Western Australian Certificate of Education.
Located in various metro locations and some country areas, classroom
and online programs deliver solutions that include community involvement,
 therapeutic support and education outcomes.

This was the first time the Club’s hosted such an event,

and we did not know what to expect.

But we have in our Club an invaluable asset named Jill Dawkins

who came up with this idea and got this event up and running

with her excellent organizational and people skills.

Come down to the front of Reubens Newsagency $5 per ticket

and they are going quick!
