Hi Everyone,

I’m writing to ask you to sponsor me.
 The sponsorship can be for any amount from $1
 up and will help fund the elimination of polio.

I’m swimming in the Rotary Club of Kwinana’s Swimarathon on 23 February.
The Swimarathon is part of a global Rotary initiative
to raise funds for the eradication of polio
. Participating swimmers are required to swim 100 metres
 and I will do so at the Kwinana Recquatic Centre
 next Saturday between 5p-6pm as a member of the Kwinana Seals team.

Any small amount you can spare will help save a kid from the misery of polio.
 You can donate as little as one dollar ($1)..

A dollar will fund about 7 vaccinations.
 That would have been more than enough to protect the kids in the picture below.

Shed now open for business 8 am to 4.30 pm daily

Suggest new members arrive 10 am for morning tea [compulsory] a great time to meet members and have a chat

The Swap Mart commenced on 21st October 
at the men's shed and will operate every Sunday
 from 7.45 to 11.30 for buyers, sellers to set up from 7.00 am to 7.45 
cost $10 per bay, swap mart will feature a village green atmosphere
with student buskers, good coffee, 
and community groups running the sausage sizzle
 as well as the Men's shed selling drinks and bric a brac. 
All funds go back into the community 
via the Rotary Club of Mosman Park and the MP mens shed.
 See you there every Sunday at Tom Perrott oval
 Mc Cabe street , Mosman Park.

for heart surgery in Perth.

 She now works at the ANZ bank in Dili 

and helps coordinate container deliveries to needy families and communities for us.

 Professor Zilman gave us a very informative talk 

on how to recognise Melanomas from a Mole.

I have attached the sheets that will assist you to identify

 any suspicious skin cancers from moles or freckles.

 Any doubt should be followed up with a visit to your GP.

One startling fact is that Melanomas are the most common cause

 of deaths in young males between 15 – 39 of all cancers.

A man was brought in to the hospital intensive care ward, 

put in a bed, tubes coming out everywhere.

 A week later, another man was admitted, 

in a similar condition.

 Both lay there,

 machines pinging, tubes poking, etc...

A couple more weeks went by before one of them 

had the strength to raise his hand and point to himself and say,

 "Scottish." 

The other signaled he had heard, raised his own hand, and said,

 "Irish." 

This act tired them out so badly it was a week before

 the first summoned up the strength to say,

 "Glasgow." 

Again, the second replied in a weak frail voice, 

"Dublin."

 Once more, the strain was too much for them both and they passed out. 

Days passed before the first man managed 

to again point to himself and say

, "Jimmy."

Replied the other,

 "Paddy."

A few hours later, 

Jimmy managed to point to himself again and rasp out weakly,

 "Cancer."

 Paddy responded,

 "Sagittarius."
