~~~~~ Vale Doug Worthington ~~~~~
It is with great sadness that Heirisson Rotary acknowledges
 the passing of its Past President Doug Worthington, a true Rotarian.
Doug was a gentleman in all senses, a passionate photographer
 and a fantastic friend.
 He changed the lives of scores of young people,
 especially the many, many Rotary Youth Exchange
and Rotary Driver Education students he helped over the past three decades.
 He will be deeply missed by us all.
Our thoughts are with the Worthington family at this sad time
This week is world @
Rotaract
 week!
 World Rotaract Week is an annual celebration
 of the success and importance of Rotaract
 in communities around the world.
Some of our Rotaract members joined Rotarians
 at the Joint District Conference over the weekend. 😊
Did you know that it's
#WorldRotaractWeek?
 53 years ago the first Rotaract club chartered and since then Rotaract
 has become a significant global organisation of volunteers
 and dedicated community minded individuals.
Although our club began only 4 years ago,
 we've certainly had 53 years worth of good times
 Whether it's volunteering at Upper Lesmurdie Falls,
 raising money for End Polio Now
, or helping pave the path at the Worl Wangkiny Indigenous Observatory
 at the Perth Observatory (just to name a few),
 our club members certainly have a lot to be proud of.
If you're interested in joining Rotaract
consider coming along to one of our meetings at
The Womens Powder Room
on the first and third Sundays of every month from 5pm - 7pm.
We hope to see you there!
Swan Rotaract Club
attended the
Rotex D9455
Quiz Night.
 Whilst neither of their 2 tables won they also didn’t come last for the
 wooden spoon 🥄so that’s a win itself.
 All in all it was a fantastic fun night and support the fundraiser
. Fun fact for the night: the armadillo is the only other creature that can
 contract leprosy which Tom managed to get that answer 🤷‍♂️😜
= Centenary of Rotary in Australia =-
In 2021, Rotary celebrates a centenary or service in Australia.
 To mark this incredible milestone, the Royal Australian Mint
has produced this stunning coloured uncirculated coin.
Australia’s over 1100 clubs and more than 30,000 members are proudly making
an impact locally and globally with their dedication to community service.
This coin honours the hard work of Australia’s Rotarians
who organise a range of community programs including overseas youth exchanges
, life changing surgery and fundraising for bushfire survivors.
Celebrating International Women’s Day - celebrating Women in Rotary.
 A fantastic meeting,  DGE Dee Buckland, PP Maureen McDaniell,
 DGN Ineke Oliver & President Jill Dawson.
Last week we had 2 enthralling presentations from 2 of our
National Youth Science Forum (NYSF)
sponsored students.
Phoebe Sharpe and Jess Kaufmann from
Helena College
both presented their experiences from the Program.
 Due to restrictions NYSF was held locally in WA with a mix
of online presentations and in person visits.
Linda joined the meeting half way through,
 just getting off a plane from Tasmania after successfully
 completing the trek.
 Eight people did the walk and $22,000 was raised for Shelterbox,
Swan Rotary donated $1,000 to Linda.
