One of the highlights of our
Rotary year

We took pride in awarding the
native animal hospital.
with our inaugural Community Service Award.
Dean Huxley's prolonged and effective
leadership was recognised through.
our award to him of a Paul
Harris Fellowship.
Our little Club also awarded CEO Diane Munrowd
a prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship
in recognition of significant
volunteer leadership and outstanding work
in building links with the community and
funding organisations.
Further awards went to Sue
Mackay, both a Rotary Club member
and dedicated wildlife
volunteer.
Veterinarian Meg Rodgers'

and student veterinarians was
recognised in another award.
Hospital Manager Karen Clarkson was recognised
for her work.
in animal rehabilitation
training programs.
John Feary was at his eloquent
best in speaking of the history of Rotary,
both on a global scale and
locally. John's words embodied the strength.
of our Club's support for WA Wildlife.
The evening closed with a tour
of the animal hospital.
and an opportunity to meet some
of the residents.
Aspiring journalist, Elena,

winter support for the
homeless commenced several years ago.
with collecting warm socks.
This year's 'Socks for the
Homeless' drive started.
earlier than previously and
was again very successful.
Over 420 pairs of socks were
collected.
Some were given to Perth
Children's Cancer Hospital
and Ronald McDonald house.
At both these places, the
socks become puppets for the sick children.
or provided clean socks for the family members,
who at a moment's notice may have to come to Perth.
for their children’s health
care.
The remaining socks were added to the
which Karrinyup Rotary provides each year.
These were filled with
essentials to provide food.
and comfort during the winter
months.
and handed out to the needy
by the Perth City Homeless Working Group.
The backpacks contain such
items as blankets, socks, beanies, gloves, scarves,
toiletries and food. Sleeping
bags were also added to the contribution.
