Youth Program of Enrichment)
camp in September is fast approaching!
If you know someone who is 14-17 years of age who
is
Wanting an opportunity to
develop and challenge themselves’.
Looking to develop their self-esteem and confidence’.
Interested in developing skills including leadership, teamwork,
communication, goal setting
and problem solving.
Wanting to build a network of young people and to make new friends.
Excited for a weekend of fun
Then we'd love to have them attend the RYPEN camp
from
15th - 17th
September 2023.
RYPEN depends on Rotary Clubs to sponsor
participants,
and the
more participants we get the better the camp will be.
We would
love to welcome your applicant to the camp.
RYPEN is at its best when we have a balance of
genders, ages,
country and
city participants,
so please
do consider who in your community.
can benefit from a RYPEN experience.
If
your club sponsors an Interact club,
this can be
a great source of participants.
We've got an exciting and challenging program
lined up.

Basil Zempilas was elected Lord Mayor
of the
City of Perth in October 2020.
He
became the 18th Lord Mayor,
joining Local Government
after a
successful and ongoing broadcasting career
in
television and radio
. Basil is also a regular columnist in The
West Australian,
which
is Australia’s second oldest newspaper.
As the Lord Mayor, Basil works with his
Council.

provide direction to the City of Perth.
He is
committed to connecting.
International and National Corporations
with the
community to achieve the liveable,
sustainable and prosperous pillars of the
City’s strategic vision.
Apart from hosting Telethon for the last 13
years
Basil
has many roles.
He is
the chair of the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief fund
which under his stewardship,
has raised almost $35 million in a 2-year
period for
communities impacted by natural disasters and
until January 2023
he was
chair of the Australian Council of Capital City Lord Mayors.
Basil
is on the City of Perth Committee,
the
WALGA State Council and the Capital City Planning Committee.

The night was well represented
by Rotary Club of Gosnells
with two of the invited guests being Ken Clark
an original member of the Fire Brigade,
accompanied by wife Mavis.

Serving the drinks at the bar were our
Rotary members Ken Panici-Allen, Neil Hewer,

The tables were decorated beautifully and the

project at the Ballajura Community Garden
culminating in the laying of our
first section of path (8.5 Cubic meters.)

. We've got a few meters of
mulch to move.
