Peter Thorn[OAM] was awarded for his tenacious efforts
 to fulfil a dream of the Lookout at The Top of Mt Barker Hill 
without his drive and ambitious approach
 the Scenic lookout would still be a dream-his efforts over the past year 
could not go unrewarded 
.Peter is the Sole Member and President of the Porongurup Rotary Club.


Bill Hollingworth was also in awarded a Fellow award 
for his many years of supporting and promoting
 the Greening the Highways programme with the Main Roads Department
throughout the Plantagenet District and The Albany Highway
 within the Shire boundaries his commitment has admirably
 raised a large amount of funds for Rotary projects 
during the past years and hopefully the future

Richard and Susan Allen are visiting Perth from America 
for a few days to catch up with Past District Governor Allan Lewins 
and other supporters of Sustainable Cambodia .
 Richard is the founder of Sustainable Cambodia
and Allen is founder of Sustainable Cambodia Australia .

Sustainable Cambodia works with the families
of rural Cambodian villages to help them achieve sustainability
 and self-sufficiency through wells, irrigation systems,
 schools, training and empowerment. 


Today's gathering was in Subiaco with a small group of supporters
 . Richard Allen will be visiting a few clubs while in Perth
including Belmont on Tuesday night before departing Perth
 for Exmouth and a few days of rest and recreation

Farewell Lauren, who leaves Western Australia 
shortly to represent our club and country
 as part of the Georgia Rotary Student Program.
The GRSP is a fantastically generous scholarship supported
 by the three Rotary Districts in Georgia, USA,
 that will enable her to spend a full Northern Academic year at
 She will be hosted in Georgia by the Rotary Club of Braselton,
and the Rotary Club of Peachtree Corners.

 catching up with her Host Club, friends and Families
 and also doing some promotional work forRotary Youth Exchange -
 from the perspective of a student a couple of years on..
