The Rotary Club of Heirisson is part of Rotary District 9450,
the largest (in area) Rotary district in the world.
The Club's name comes from the small, sandy island in the middle of the Swan River
that bisects Perth city.
Heirisson Island was named after Midshipman Francois Heirisson
who rowed a longboat up the Swan River to where modern Perth now stands.
Heirisson was on the French ship "Le Naturaliste"
which was part of the Nicholas Baudin scientific expedition (1801-1804)
Today Heirisson Island supports the Causeway Bridge that carries
vehicle traffic into and out of the city each day.

Rotary Club of Western Endeavour

Join hundreds of quiz lovers on Wednesday June 24
at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre
and as well as raising money for Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH)
and Rotary projects, you could help break a Guinness World Record™.
The BIG Quiz is an initiative of the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation
and Rotary Club of Western Endeavour,
and in 2006 broke the Guinness World RecordTM
for the world’s ‘Largest Quiz’ ever held in one location, with 1, 263 people.
On December 3, 2007 this record was broken when 1,566 participants
took part in a Science Quiz in Hyderabad, India.
Now we are trying to win the record back but we need your help!!
Quiz questions will cover areas including sport, entertainment,
current affairs, music, history and geography,
with multiple choice answers being keyed in electronically
and the results displayed immediately.
Contestants will have the opportunity to win an assortment of great prizes.
Proceeds will help fund projects for PMH, as well as supporting local Rotary projects.

Tickets are $40 per person (bookings of tables of ten only)
and there will be great prizes up for grabs.
Table price includes two bottles of Higher Plane wine,
a six pack of Wahoo Premium Ale, pizza, flatbread and dips.
