CLUB PROMOTIONS and  FLYERS

----------------------------
----------------------
The Rotary Club of Attadale fundraising movie Sunday 14th August 2011
commencing promptly at 6:30 pm Cygnet Cinema, Preston Street, Como Tickets $12 each

Based on the legendary true story of the Red Dog who united a disparate local community
while roaming the Australian outback in search of his long lost master.
Filmed in Dampier, Karratha, surrounding Pilbara areas,
and the South and West of Western Australia.
Red Dog is believed to have been born in the town of Paraburdoo in 1971
and had a variety of names to those who knew him, including:
Bluey, Tally Ho, and Dog of the Northwest.
Tally Ho was his first name, given to him by a man called Colonel Cummings,
who is believed to have been his first owner
and the one who brought him to Dampier.
Following John's death in 1975, Red spent a lot of time travelling on his own
although he was taken in by many members of the community
and a veterinarian who treated him.
Red was made a member of the Dampier Salts Sport and Social Club and the Transport Union.
He was also given a bank account with Wales Bank,
which is said to have used him as a mascot and sales tool with the slogan,
"If Red banks at the Wales, then you can too".
Director: Kriv Stenders
Writers: Louis de Bernières (author of ‘A Partisan's Daughter’ and
‘Captain Corelli's Mandolin’), and Daniel Taplitz
Stars: Josh Lucas, Rachael Taylor and Noah Taylor

Judging by the time they picked up their morning newspaper,
my newly retired neighbors were getting up later and later
. One morning I was outside when my neighbor slipped out to pick up his paper.

"Sloth is one of the seven deadly sins, you know," I teased him.
He replied, "So is envy."
