Dear Fellow Rotarians:

This message is going out to those who visited our Cambodia booth
at the 2011 RI convention in New Orleans.
As you know, the 2012 RI Convention will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, on 6-9 May.
This is a terrific opportunity to visit SE Asia. Bangkok is a beautiful city with amazing sights.
Many of you know of the work that Rotary clubs are doing in Cambodia
 through the Sustainable Cambodia project.
Rotary clubs from Western Australia, Calgary, Canada, Florida, New York, Utah
and Hawaii in the US, and other clubs are engaged in this.
We are organizing a side-trip from the RI convention in Bangkok,
to spend a few days exploring Cambodia together and visiting the projects.
This will be an opportunity for friendship and camaraderie -
with fellow Rotarians from around the world -
as you visit our Rotary projects and meet the families in these remote villages.
For those who wish to do so (not required),
there will be opportunities to assist with projects related to water filtration,
 rainwater capture, healthcare and schools.
And you will be surrounded by wonderful Cambodian children and families,
and will share experiences with Cambodian Rotarians.
The Rotary Club of Pursat Cambodia will coordinate your air travel from Bangkok to Cambodia,
and back from Cambodia to Bangkok at the end of the trip.
In between, we will have large vans or small busses for transportation,
and our Cambodian and international Rotarians
will provide transportation in small groups out into the villages.
Housing (small hotel-like guest houses) will be arranged, as will meals.
You will have ample opportunities to travel “off the beaten path” with English-speaking Cambodian Rotarians, or you can enjoy the visit in a bit more comfort.
It will not be luxurious (this is rural Cambodia), but it will not be physically challenging,
and it will be as safe as anywhere you will visit in the world.
You will have one of the most positive and memorable visits of your life,
and will fall in love with the families and children!
We are early in the planning process for this,
and we are simply looking for a head-count of people who MAY be interested in this visit.
The general itinerary is:
• The RI convention runs May 6-9
• May 10th leave Bangkok & fly to Siem Reap, Cambodia for one night to see the temples of Angkor Wat
• Late on May 11th travel by bus or van with fellow Rotarians to Pursat,
in central Cambodia, arriving May 12th, overnighting along the way likely in Battambang
• Spend May 12-13 in Pursat visiting projects and volunteering if desired
• May 14th travel by van or bus to Phnom Penh, the capitol and overnight there.
See the Royal Palace and the Killing Fields museum if desired
• Late on May 15th fly back to Bangkok

We will not have a final cost of the visit until we have a count
of the number of people who are interested.
But a range of $1,500 to $2,000 is probable.
100% of any overage from the trip will go to funding the projects.
Fellow travelers will include Rotarians from the many districts
who work on Sustainable Cambodia projects.
Naturally there is no commitment until we get further along in planning.
But if you might be interested in this,
please email Richard Allen at usoffice@sustainablecambodia.org
 as soon as possible.
And visit our Cambodia website at http://www.sustainablecambodia.org/
.Please let us hear from you if you may be interested in going.
Yours in Rotary,
Richard Allen

Here is a challenge from Greg Fitch of the Rotary Club of Hillarys

ALBERT EINSTEIN'S RIDDLE

There are no tricks, just pure logic, so good luck and don't give up.

1. In a street there are five houses, painted five different colours.
2. In each house lives a person of different nationality
3. These five homeowners each drink a different kind of beverage,
smoke different brand of cigar and keep a different pet.

THE QUESTION: WHO OWNS THE FISH?
HINTS

1. The Brit lives in a red house.
2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The Green house is next to, and on the left of the White house.
5. The owner of the Green house drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
7. The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The man living in the centre house drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
12. The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The man who smokes Blends has a neighbour who drinks water.

ALBERT EINSTEIN WROTE THIS RIDDLE EARLY DURING THE 19th CENTURY.
HE SAID THAT 98% OF THE WORLD POPULATION WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SOLVE IT.

 Mae West once said she likes two kinds of men - foreign and domestic.
Well, I like two kinds of wine - red and white.

 Forgive me for I have zinned.

 I like to cook with wine. Sometimes I even put in the food.

 Wine drinkers make grape lovers.

 Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you do not understand it.

 Doormat: “We only serve the finest vintage wines. Did you bring any?”

 In NYC, they hail taxis. In Napa, they hail cabs.

 How Merlot can you go?

 Don’t drink and drive - you may spill your wine.

 Money may not buy happiness but it will buy wine.

 A cork retriever is not a dog from Ireland

 I like long legs and not just on a wine glass.

 Wine improves with age. The older I get, the more I like it.

 What did the grape say when he was squeezed? Nothing. He just wined.

 Men are like a fine wine. They start out as grapes.
It's our job to stomp them, and then keep them in the dark until they mature.
And hopefully they'll turn out to be something we would like to have dinner with.
