A cadre member at work.
The work of cadre technical advisers varies from site visits
such as shown in this rural school in India
to desk technical or financial audits
in one or more of the Rotary current areas of focus.
Meetings with beneficiaries in this picture show  students
at a rural school as well as their parents, teachers
, the head of the village and a cadre member.

The Rotary Club of Como held a very short Quiz session
on the work of The Rotary Foundation for their program
at a partners’ night meeting and can provide you
with the questions and suggestions on its implementation
making it easy for you to replicate.

Contact Anne Littlewood annel@iinet.net.au
who was part of making this a success.
All questions had been included in recent editions of Rotary Down Under.
There was even one about the Rotary Foundation cadre.
Well done to the Rotary Club of Como.

Rick on the Ice Road

--------------

----------------------------

A Finnish woman swims in a frozen lake
 to treat her broken leg.
 When she jumps in,
 I'm speechless.

After a downhill biking accident,
Johanna Nordblad thought she might lose her leg.
Doctors had to leave the fracture open for 10 days to avoid necrosis.
In a last ditch effort, to save the limb,
they tried a painful cold water treatment.
That experience, eventually, led her to develop a passion
for swimming under frozen lakes, just holding her breath.
Today, she holds the world-record for free diving 50-meters
under ice wearing only a wet suit.
