with the questions and suggestions on its
implementation
making it easy for you to replicate.
Contact Anne Littlewood annel@iinet.net.au
who was part of making this a success.
All questions had been included in
recent editions of Rotary Down Under.

Rick on the Ice Road
--------------

A Finnish woman swims in a
frozen lake
to treat her broken leg.
When she jumps in,
I'm speechless.
After a downhill biking accident,
Johanna Nordblad thought
she might lose her leg.
Doctors had to leave the fracture open for 10 days to
avoid necrosis.
In a last ditch effort, to save the limb,
they tried a painful
cold water treatment.
That experience, eventually, led her to develop a passion
for swimming under frozen lakes, just holding her breath.
Today, she holds the
world-record for free diving 50-meters
under ice wearing only a wet suit.
