Great news for all Australians who would love to attend a Convention.

The convention is back Down Under
The city of Melbourne has been provisionally selected
as the site for the 2023 Rotary International convention.

Congratulations to the whole bid team who showcased
the best of what Melbourne has to offer.

Our WA Rotaract Representative Sam and WA DRR elect Eeshwar
were two of the 60 Rotaractors from around the world
selected to attend the International Assembly,
alongside all the District Governor Elects.
This was an experience of a lifetime
and they met so many inspiring individuals,
 including Tim from ShelterBox

Rotary Club of Margaret River

The Rotary Club of Margaret River recently had the pleasure
of hosting a farewell dinner for retiring CEO
of the Augusta Margaret River Shire, Gary Evershed.

The Club applauded Gary's leadership
 of our 'sea-change, tree-change' community
where the main economic driver is tourism,
but where there are many competing priorities.

Rotary Clubs around the world have the opportunity
to recognise those who make significant contributions
 to their communities
. They do this by donating to The Rotary Foundation to fund
its ongoing global educational and humanitarian projects.

By contributing in this way the Rotary Club of Margaret River w
as authorised to officially recognise Gary’s inspiring
and transformational leadership in our own community
by awarding him a Paul Harris Fellowship..

Rotary Club President, Michelle Miller,
presented Gary with a Paul Harris Fellowship

Massive congratulations to Past President and PADG Ben!
We are extremely proud of him and honoured to be part of his journey
, watching him grow from strength to strength.
Ben has put a huge amount of work into Rotary both locally
and in WA, as well as into soooo many other community projects -
it's wonderful to see his hard work recognised by the city.

. Amidst all the activity of our Austrlia Day
we had the pleasure of seeing our much-loved member Michael Metcalf
receiving the Senior Citizen of the Year Award
. Michael has been the chief organizer of the Christmas Day lolly run,
Australia Day breakfast, Anzac Day breakfast, and Classic Car Rally.
Additionally, he was involved in the establishment of the Kwinana Bendigo Bank
, and has helped many individuals within the community.
Hence, his award today was very well deserved
, and our heartiest congratulations and appreciation to him.

We had a great time last night at the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
with our two sponsored young adults Jasmine and Jolene.
These 5-day leadership camps are inspirational!
If you, or you know of someone who would be interested in coming next year,
let us know as we are keen to support the future of young people.

Rotary Club of Karrinyup

A great night at the Perth International Airport last night
as we welcomed home Jasmin from her 12 months in Spain
as a Rotary Youth Exchange student.
We also saw off Alicia who is heading to Norway
 for her exchange.
Alicia will arrive to -3 and snow, a slight difference
to the 40 degree heat wave that she has just left.
Both girls had family and friends in attendance
- and it was just terrific that their paths crossed
for just enough time for a photo together

Rotary Club of Cockburn

We said farewell to Miella last night, our outbound Youth Exchange student
. Off to Spain for a year, enjoy and have a great year,
we look forward to hearing about all your amazing adventures.
