What an overwhelming first day of ticket sales.
60
tickets went on day one.
Thank you to everyone who has purchased a ticket already...
we have had some great feedback on how easy it is to purchase these tickets
, so anyone in Australia can buy and be in the running for a share of
$25,000.
"Woohoo! Was super easy team! Just followed the prompts
and BAM I now own 2 winning tickets!"
Cass - Kalgoorlie.
"This is fabulous and so easy"
Jodi -
Kalgoorlie.
"How easy was that, click on the link and done in 30 seconds.
Now I'm in the running for $20,000, thank you, and good
luck" Emma - Perth.
This is one of the main reasons we have decided to focus
our research on the under 12 age group.

Enjoy a fabulous Sun downer at the MAAC:
The Rotary Club of Karrinyup enjoys some fabulous sunsets
at the Marmion Angling and Aquatic Club (MAAC)
. As a long standing supporter of Polio Plus,
we have dedicated a Sun downer event to our fundraising
for End Polio Now.
Numbers are limited so book early to ensure you don’t miss out.
Be sure to share this wonderful opportunity with family and
friends.
A wonderful night was enjoyed by both the Rotarian's and Apex members.
The night started with a delicious smorgasbord of food prepared by Tab from Apex.
The MC for the night, Collin Fowler, introduced both sides and entertained us
with witty conversations throughout the night
. Soon enough the debates began,
with some interesting and, at times funny quips from both sides.
The 3 adjudicators quietly went about their job, scoring each debater
. Michael presented the final decision to a hushed room of supporters.
Unfortunately,
Apex had won by 11 points.
The Rotarians would like to thank the Apex club for their hospitality
and once again, congratulate them on their win.
Rotary social evening at Lynne and Brian Warrens’
. Brian and Lynne supplied delicious Weber cooked roasts.
Members brought a plate. A fabulous evening shared.
THANK YOU both.
Some of our passionate members got the opportunity to assess the
2022 National Youth Science Forum applicants on their teamwork skills today
! The lead up to this event involved creating the activity,
while finding an activity that could assess a wide number of skills
and then sourcing
the materials needed to make the activity as enjoyable as possible.
We assessed 17 year 11 students from the south district,
and we observed their team work as it's such a big part of STEM careers.
One of our members, Jess, is a 2021 NYSF alumni and she loved being
on the other side of the table, assessing students who are
passionate as her in science
Did you know that there’s only around 400
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander doctors in Australia?
That’s fewer than 0.5% of our doctors.
The Australian Rotary Indigenous Health Scholarship
aims to combat this by supporting Indigenous Australians
as they study medicine, nursing and allied health.
We were joined this week by some of our lovely Rotarians
and got to celebrate together our clubs $500 donation to support this
program
Another great night with all 3 Rotary Clubs getting together
a unifying night that celebrates each club's unique qualities and members
while enjoying fellowship with like minded people
MORE DONATIONS FOR
CARAD-Centre for Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees Inc!
Big thanks to our Rotary friend Matt who kindly
allowed us to fill a trolley of donations at his
store today!
Don't forget, the CARAD foodbank is always accepting donations to fill their pantry
and they update their website with the items that are currently needed most
Please consider making a donation!
Why not drop into Midland Supa IGA
and purchase something, as a thank you for their generosity?
The Pham IGA Group are generous supporters of many
local causes.
Thanks to the Rotary Club of Canning for putting on Comedy for a Cause,
it was a fun night and the comedians were great.
It's been a busy couple of weeks
, thanks to Michael for taking all the awesome photos
. Two weeks ago, was the Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas and
then Kym McCormack the architect for RSLWA Anzac House
Another vibrant and interesting meeting
welcoming the Bunbury Multicultural Group, and representative committee members
Shamara Williams, Susanne Becker-Hamersley Jo Castro
and Amol Agrawal and his wife
Rakshita.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered last Saturday at our Bunnings sausage sizzle.
The crowds kept coming and it was an outstanding effort by all.
Special thanks to Lillian, John G, Ray and all the
Interact students from Mt Lawley Senior High School.
Well done everyone.
