We welcomed our newest member into our Rotary
family last night.
District Governor Dee inducted Ramu into our club,
and spent an enjoyable evening with us.
We wish Ramu a long and happy life in Rotary
service.

10th of December is World Human Rights Day and to mark the occasion,
we'll be holding our second annual Giving Day.
With over 113 million people made homeless by disaster and conflict,
to the earthquake in Haiti; continuing responses
in Ethiopia, Mozambique, Syria, and the Lake Chad Basin,
where hundreds of thousands have been forced to flee their homes;
and planning is well underway to provide emergency shelter
and other
essential items in war-torn Yemen.
For many, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be a disaster
on top of disaster.
Affected communities and people living in overcrowded camps
are left especially vulnerable, with little-to-no space for self-isolating
and social distancing.

about the need to support those people in our community who go hungry.

and circulating the Flyer to family and friends
so they can contribute.

Last year, Give a Feed raised over $75,000 for over 3,000 hampers
and, Don Burnside, President of RC of Heirisson
is sure we
can do better this year!

District 9455 Conference Art Competition?
The art competition is taking place NOW in Term 4.
Schools
have until the end of their school year to complete the artwork.
What format will the competition take?
The artwork will be in the form of an A2 poster.
Students are invited to investigate a West Australia Aboriginal artist
that they like and present an informative poster about the artist.
Please have a look at the specifications in the
Rotary District 9455 Art competition – schools’ letter that came attached
to an email to club presidents back in
August or see below.
Who is the competition for and who decides who
will enter?
The poster competition is for art students in Years 7 to 10.
Schools will decide how many students will participate and,
if possible, build this into their program for Term 4
or it can be done as a
private activity at home.
How much will it cost for your link school to
enter the competition?
Cost to the Rotary Club = $100.
If you have
more than one link school the fee will be discounted.

There are some great prizes on offer including art materials
and the opportunity to participate in a masterclass
with an established artist.

LOCAL STUDENTS GET A HEAD START FOR YEAR 11
WITH $500 PHIL PHILLIPS INCENTIVE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Three Year 10 students from local high schools were guests of honour
at the Rotary Club of Armadale on 23 November,
and received their awards to assist them with educational needs
as they enter year 11 in 2022.
The winners are (in photo order):
Abishana Manmatharaj from Cecil Andrews College,
Dharshigaa Gaya from Kelmscott Senior High School,
and
Regina Epenisa from Armadale Senior High School.
Greg Thurston from the Rotary Foundation presented the club with a
Certificate of Recognition for its contributions to the Rotary

180 people enjoyed a wonderful evening with Fiona Wood

Geraldton schools in 2021

program(particularly Michelle
who
looks after us here in Geraldton)

out nearly 1,000 each time 
The Rotary Club of Batavia Coast would like to say
a massive “thank you!”
to ALL our community partners who make this possible
… and many school staff who pick up after each
session 
Path of Hope
is an approach that mobilises the organisational capacity
of Rotarians to support the Salvation Army, agencies and services
that provide safety and empowerment to women and their children
escaping Family and Domestic Violence.
The club initially did a fundraising event for Path of Hope
called “Opera at Twilight” and have since also offered them sites
at their annual Hyde Park Fair for them to use to promote
what Path
of Hope is all about.
Last year the club supported their annual Christmas Gift appeal
purchasing Christmas gifts for the victims of Family Domestic Violence.
Club members were approached to do it again this year.
Without hesitation, the club decided to continue that support for
this year's Christmas Gift appeal.
With the aid of a District grant, they had $1500 to spend.
The photo above shows the three club members who took time
out to purchase the gifts and then drop them at a
collection point in Claremont.
The Rotarians involved are
Lorraine Elliott, Mason Burton and Bruno Fic.
Since the inception of Alzheimer's Walk to remember, 10 years ago,
the Rotary Club of North Perth has entered a team into the walk
in each year that it was held.
This year the club registered 17 participants in our team.
It’s a charity close to many of the members having family and friends
who have suffered from Alzheimer's

A big fun day out yesterday for Como Rotary members and friends.
All aboard a bus with Captain Les in charge, and off to the Swan Valley,
with morning tea at the House of Honey, and then onto the Swan Settlers Markets,
with lots to see.
A few early visitors to the Sin Gin tasting cellar door,
(names to be passed onto the Sarge at next meeting!)
. Then onto Sittella Winery for a wonderful lunch and some wine tasting.
The bus trip home had plenty of music and singing,
although a few were reminded perhaps not to give up the day job!
A great day had by all, thanks to organisers
Alan & Joy and Richard & Kath.
Special thanks to Captain Les for getting us there and back safely,
and putting up with the noisy return trip!
Oh what fun it is to ride ……
Great night out riding around Perth
on peddlers seeing all the Xmas lights in Perth CBD
and Northbridge.
Also enjoyed a yummy dinner upstairs at The Royal
Hotel.
Another fun night with Rotary and Rotaract friends.
The cyclists are incredible and everyone loved the experience !!
It was a packed house at Orana Cinema on Thursday night
for the opening of the new installment of James Bond, in No Time To Die
. A huge congratulations to all Rotarians involved in organising
and preparing the evening.
Lots of community fellowship, wine and nibbles,
before President John and his delightful offsider Debbie
welcomed the audience and handed out the raffle prizes
. Graeme Durwood scored a couple of very nice cushions!
A terrific night was had by all.
The movie was fun and fast, as expected of James at his best;
members were proud to attend the renaming ceremony
for RDA Carine - Danjoo Koorliny.
Karrinyup Rotary has supported RDA Carine for eighteen years
and was integral in converting their need for an all weather facility into a proposal
that could be submitted for approval and funding.
The facility, which opened in 2019, is now beautifully decorated
by local indigenous artists.
How's this for generosity?
With the callout asking for items and goods to be donated for our
fundraiser, Minh's mentor Ashley from
Perth Rotary - Western Australia
was kind enough to reach out and donate a total of NINE boxes.
We want to thank Ashley and his business
Perth CBD Uniforms & Promotions
for the generosity.
Minh will be at the Markets again this Sunday selling donated items
and so far
has raised a total of $593.45 for Dress for Success.
Our progressive dinner was a great success with a series of delicious courses
served up three different locations.
Everyone dressed up in their finery and it was great fun
