A big thank you to everyone who supported.

last night's Harvey Community Gala Night.

It wasn't too hot, and the breeze kept the majority of the flies away.

The Stallholders enjoyed the evening –

Although we can't showcase everyone,

It was wonderful to see the buzz at GeoVino's new drink.

and relax area, which was packed,

Harvey Swimming Club sold out three times after re-stocking their sausage sizzle,

Mama Jo's sold out, the ice-cream, donuts and fairy floss were all winners too.

The Art Show in Cafe Uduc was a great initiative and constantly packed.

The entertainment that was displayed is a credit to Harvey locals,

from tiny tots to tinsel-haired seniors, from solo artists to group singers,

what a wonderful range of talent we have here in Harvey.

A BIG thank you to Southwest Development Commission,

the Shire of Harvey, Bianca Pannetta's School of Dance

and Team Classique for Hair and Body

for their significant investments into this event.

Dr Julian Atlas, last year's Fred Johnston Trust awardee

for the Dux of the UWA Medical School,

was our guest speaker last week.

 He explained that after completing.

his second year of medical studies

he was not sure of his future direction in medicine.

and applied to go to the Albany/Denmark area.

In the south-west he gained experience

with a varied range of medical issues,

including working with the indigenous community.

He decided that his future did lie in medicine.

and he is currently a junior doctor at KEMH.

Next year he will be working at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne
