at the President’s Recognition Luncheon, Monday, 7 May.
Trained in Hindustani classical vocals, Bhosle is a singer, actor,
and composer as well as the grandson of Asha Bhosle,

HI Peter,

Thought I'd drop you a line to say hello.
Just had my first couple of weeks at work and it has been a whirlwind.
I'm working at the Dili ambulance station and have been mainly doing shifts
with the local crews to get familiarised.
The work is incredible and I have seen some horrendous
and very different things even in a short time.
They run two crews during the day and 1 at night. The first thing that struck me is that they lack even basic medical supplies like first aid kits to be able to go to jobs that may involve multiple trauma victims. The first order of business was to unpack all of my rotary boxes and start giving out supplies!
Every crew in Dili now has a trauma bag with bandages,
cannulas, fluids and basic supplies.
I can't tell you how proud they are to be able to use this stuff.
I'm looking at expanding the work to try and give them more gear
and get them to start using it in anger.
Once I've got Dili equipped it's off to the other 13 districts to try and do the same.
Quite amazing!
Perth seems so far away and I know sometimes it must feel like a lot of work loading
those containers and sending gear off.
Truly, the gear I have is making a difference where it counts,
also found homes for the filing cabinets and the fridge too!
My bike project is coming together and I've got a couple of local lads to work with,
so we're just putting together a little plan of action.
I've attached some photos; shelving with all my medical supplies from rotary,
the 2 dili ambulances and also the trauma bags all kitted out with stuff sent from rotary.
It was a real buzz to see gear used on patients;
we had a 10 year old with a fracture who got a splint and all of the gear.
Today we had a motorcycle vs. car accident and all of the injured (3 kids)
got their wounds dressed and cleaned.
