Rotary Club of Mount Barker
Earlier this year the Mt Barker Club
ran out of presentation flags the ones that clubs
provide to each other when visiting each other

We have a wonderful NEW flag to give our visitors
Designed by local schoolchildren
 and just to make a big show we had a FULL pull up banner made as well;
It Represents the Radio Tower on Mt Barker Hill
the wind farms as you drive into Mt Barker
the local college farm animals, the winery grapes  and much more

At the Junior school graduation the 15th December 2014
the pull up banner was shown to the school children and staff
presented by the Mt Barker Rotary Club;

 thank you Super Secretary Susan

Introducing the Interact Club of Subiaco
As the school year drew to a close,
there was excitement amongst a number of Perth Modern School senior students.
The newly established Interact Club of Subiaco
received its formal Charter from Rotary International –
presented by the District Governor Angus Buchanan
and Tony Hollingsworth, President of the sponsoring club, the Rotary Club of Subiaco.
 Established in June 2014,
this Rotary Club for 12-18 year olds came about following
the experiences of several students at the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Rotary Youth Programs of Enrichment (RYPEN).
In participating in these student leadership weekends,
Liam Finlay and Jason Russell recognized that an Interact Club
would provide the perfect base through which to make their community
and social service projects coherent and located in a bigger picture.
In their initial six months, members of the Club
have been active in fundraising and have already sponsored
an international service project and one locally.
The Principal of Perth Modern School, Ms Lois Joll said,
“Community service is an integral part of the school curriculum
at Perth Modern School and this student led initiative
is a great vehicle for such service.
These students have established a sustainable framework
for future young people at the school

ALDI Specially Selected for the Perfect Aussie Christmas.

 VisitCostaRica - Save the americans
Costa Rica is basically the most amazing country on the planet,
and its wide variety of adorable animals are a huge draw
for tourists from all over the world.
If you have a hard time wiping the smile off your face
while watching turtles and sloths sing about their country,
you'll have an even harder time being unhappy
when you book your plane ticket here!

I know there is a particularly Politically Correct period
around the end of the year so I wanted to send
some sort of holiday greeting to my friends,
but it is so difficult in today's world to know exactly
what to say without offending someone.
So I met with my solicitor yesterday,
and on his advice I wish to say the following:

Please accept with no obligation,
implied or implicit, my best wishes
 for an environmentally conscious,
socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive,
gender neutral celebration of the winter/summer solstice holiday,
practiced with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion
or secular practices of your choice with respect
for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others,
or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling
and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset
of the generally accepted calendar year 2015,
but not without due respect for the calendars of choice
of other cultures whose contributions to society
have helped make our country great
(not to imply that it is necessarily greater than any other country)
and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability,
religious faith or sexual preference of the wish-ee.

By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms:
This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal.
It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting.
It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement
any of the wishes for her/himself or others
and is void where prohibited by law,
and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher.
This wish is warranted to perform as expected
within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year
or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting,
whichever comes first, and warranty is limited
to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish
at the sole discretion of the wisher.
 Merry Christmas!!!
