Committing to universal education during
Rotary Basic Education and Literacy Month
Basic education and literacy are essential for reducing poverty,
improving health, encouraging community and economic development,
 and promoting peace.
Over the years, we’ve helped make significant progress
towards helping achieve the United Nationals Millennium Development Goals,
especially within the basic education and literacy area of focus.
According to a 2014 progress report,
literacy rates among adults and youth continue to rise
and the gender gap in literacy is narrowing.

This September, Rotary Basic Education and Literacy Month,
 we’re celebrating our progress
and reaffirming our commitment to help attain universal education!

Remember: Smile and the
 'World Smiles With You'
Rotary WA welcomes you to Climb For A Smile 2015
at Brookfields 108 St Georges Terrace, Perth.

were a huge success surpassing all expectations
and raising over $300,000 for Rotary causes.

This year we invite you to be part of Climb for a Smile
which will be much bigger and better.
So why not create a team,
encourage your friends to join in and open a fundraising page.

For those new to Climb for a Smile,
participants are encouraged to raise funds for their preferred charity
as they walk, jog or run up the 50 floors / 1,042
steps via one of the tower stairwells on the morning
of Sunday 13 September 2015.
Faster climbers are sent off first.
In the week prior to the event all climbers
are advised of their start time and advised to arrive
at the tower at least 20 minutes prior to this time.

encouraging their District Governors & their local members
to buy/on sell as many tickets as possible through their local cinema -

for Rotary paid closed group/charity screenings on this date,
