Stephanie, who is our District's 'District Rotataract Representative'
told us that there are 5 Rotaract Clubs in the District.
They have about 15 members each.
She and Kevin are members of the Mt Lawley Rotaract Club
who share Community Service projects with both
the Mt Lawley Interact and Rotary Clubs.

Able to contribute more in time and effort than financially,
one of their club's biggest contributions is as coaches
 for the award-winning Star-Kick program
run as part of the Coolbinia Football Club.
Most of the Mt Lawley Rotaractors have Working with Children Cards
and volunteer as coaches for children with disabilities
who want to play Aussie Rules Football.

FOCUS ON INDIA
Delivering healthy babies empowering disenfranchised women
& children and combating HIV-AIDS are high priorities
for our special guests this week.

Past President Peter Warren conducted an “armchair chat”
with Dr Philemon Pawar and Mrs Shalini Pawar
and also introduced two guests from Mukti Mission

Dr Pawar is a Past President (2013-14) of the Rotary Club of Daund
in Maharashtra, India
and also Superintendent of Ashwood Memorial Hospital in Daund.
Mrs Pawar oversees the hospital’s HIV-AIDS programme
which not only focuses on compassionate care for people
affected by HIV-AIDS but also on  prevention and public education.
Ashwood Hospital was established by Australian Churches of Christ
missionaries in 1927 and was handed over to local leadership in 1971

SERVICE ABOVE SELF LETTER TO ACCOMPANY PLAQUE

President Gail Sampson presented Past President Craig Alford
with the letter from Rotary International President K R Ravindran
that  accompanied his “Service Above Self Award”
 previously presented at District Conference.
The letter had been mislaid following the conference,
but it was great to re-inforce the tremendous effort Craig
and his intrepid Ride to the Other Side team have
put into thousands of kilometres on the Hustler Super Z ride-on lawnmower
fundraising for Rotary and other charities.
