Best Ladies Hat won by Barbara Hunter.
Barbara had to work overtime at the hospital
and did not have time to go home & change
so a
friend made her a quick paper hat.
Best Cup outfit was Murray Edwards
who
would not have looked out of place at any racecourse.

DG Lindsay Dry presenting Pres.
Jeremy Foster with the Top Giving Club in D. 9455
to the Rotary Foundation in
2016-17.
Speaker last meeting was Jovan
Scekic,
a refugee from Serbia who came to Australia with nothing
and has
studied and worked his way up to being a Psychologist.
Jovan renounced many of
his less sociable habits along his life's journey
and now works with helping
many refugees
and their families to assimilate in their new country.
Another inspirational personal story and well done to the Scekic family

At this week’s meeting we hosted a
visiting Rotarian from Denmark.
Carsten Konrad is visiting WA with fellow radiologist, Peter Boris,
in search
of good wine and called in for a “make up”.
This is important to Carsten as he has a record of 100% Rotary meeting
attendance,
either at his home club in Hjorring in Southern Denmark
or by doing
“make ups” by visiting other clubs.
The Hjorring Rotary Club has 62 members
and has been in operation for 100
years.
Carsten and President Luke Bayley exchanged club banners.

the upper village of Les, Bali.
Since then the club has supported building a
teachers office,
renovated ablution facilities (toilets, basins and cubicles)
for 120 school children, installed water tanks, gutters
and running water to
the school.

for members to weed the area we assisted planting in August.
