Long time Honorary Member previously
active 20+ years,
Vernon Ottaway passed away last Monday. 31 March
Vern would have turned 100 in August
this year.
Vern was employed as Managing
Accountant of the Water Supply
in Northam for many years and on his retirement
from that
became Mayor of Northam for near 20 yrs.
He was a thorough gentleman, and his
wife Emma,
pre deceased him 12 years was a real gem of a lady.
Rotary provided the clock tower and
the actual clock in the 1990,s
in front of the Council Chambers,
and the Rose garden was created through Rotary
dedicated to her memory in the first decade of this century.
