By Carlos Brazao, founder of the Rotarian Executive Managers Fellowship
Imagine going from being an excellent doctor or engineer
to becoming a General Manager of the Hospital
or creating your own company: suddenly your co-workers no longer share
the same world as you and can’t relate to you.
Oftentimes, when a Rotarian Executive Manager faces a problem
and wants to discuss it with someone to seek their advice,
they seek a network to reach out to.
It’s possible their fellow Rotary club members can’t assist
if there are few Executive Managers in the club.
With the time consuming responsibilities of being an Executive Manager,
the absence of a professional network to share ideas
with can lead people to leave Rotary.
It’s also possible some Executive Managers may not even approach
Rotary for professional networking if it lacks the opportunities
for professional development they seek.
We want to invert this trend.
Our goal is to improve the number of retained Executive Managers
and Entrepreneurs within Rotary and motivate them
to promote Rotary amongst their peers,
creating a network for sharing professional experiences.
Our purpose is to bring together Rotarians to share Executive Management interests,
in turn creating an environment that will help retain
and attract Executive Managers to Rotary.

As a recently recognized Rotary Fellowship,
we will have in-person local meetings that will be broadcasted online
so that others around the world can join us.
We aim to promote the Rotary philosophy by encouraging Executive Managers
to use The Four-Way Test as an ethical code within their companies
, and by encouraging youth mentorship.
We also aim to support young entrepreneurs and managers
with high personal and professional potential in their first steps
in the corporate world to allow them to achieve
a long, successful and ethical career.

we’ve been celebrating Rotary Fellowships Month

We hope these stories inspire you to join or start a Rotary Fellowship.

A Rotary request
Can you help??

Dear Rotarian fellows,

please allow me to introduce myself.
 My name is Tim Krieger,
I am a professor of economics at the University of Freiburg in Germany (https://sites.google.com/view/timkrieger)
and a member of RC Freiburg-Schlossberg

Next year, I will spend a few months in Perth
as a guest researcher at UWA
. I am looking forward to a great time of academic exchange
with my colleagues and the students at UWA’s econ department
, but also to meeting Rotarians in Perth
. This will be a wonderful experience.

Currently, I am trying to organize my visit and find an accommodation.
This is a bit of a challenge as my family
– that is, my wife Frauke and my daughters
Mia (12 years), Liv (10 years) and Ida (7 years)
– will join me during my stay and we would probably need
at least a three-bedroom apartment from early February to mid-June 2020
. Unfortunately, the university cannot provide us with a sufficiently
 large accommodation during that time.

This is why I am turning to you.
If you know, by any chance,
someone who lets an apartment furnished or who needs a housesitter for this time
(we would also be flexible to switch apartments during our stay)
that is not too far from the UWA campus,
we would be very interested to hear from you.
Your help and any ideas how to find an accommodation
are very much appreciated!

Thank you very much for your support
and see you hopefully next year in Perth!

Kind regards
Tim Krieger

Congratulations to Paul Harris Fellow Rick Dawson
and Palm Beach Rotary Club Rotarian of the Year Kerilee Dawson.

It is with great sadness that we advise of the passing of long-time member
 Irvin Phillips on 13 June.
Irvin was Past President of the club (1987-88) and a Paul Harris Fellow.
His contribution to many club projects over the years has been outstanding,
especially his work in Malaysia, training parents and teachers of autistic children
. Our thoughts and prayers are with Margaret and the family.
Irvin was a member of the Rotary Club of Armadale for 43 years.

What a year it was with Robyn Yates
as our 9465 District Governor for 2019.
The money she raised at the Collie Conference
for shaving her head was significant.
As we heard from incoming DG
Wayne Milnes at a recent seminar,
our membership retention went from 23% to 93%
... how AWESOME is that.
Robyn was approachable, friendly, proactive, decisive, fun and inclusive.
THANK YOU for being the INSPIRATION to us all.
The board of 9465 worked our rear ends off and together
as a team we achieved so much, and all with loads of laughs.
With most staying on under this years District Governor
Wayne Milnes
we know that it will be another amazing year for ROTARY.
