One tip for kids who are stressed about COVID-19
 is to practise relaxation skills.

The BRAVE Program have some ways
to do that on their YouTube channel:

Mental health researchers need your support
to continue important work like the BRAVE program.

Exciting news from Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS)

and Rotary New Zealand World Community Service (RNZWCS).
 Now working closer together.
RNZWCS established an appeal project in New Zealand
to fund Bushfire recovery in Australia
and RAWCS has registered the Emergency Response Kits (ERKs)
project to support disaster victims in the Pacific through RNZWCS.
Another area of collaboration is Rotarians Against Malaria (RAM)
in Australia, New Zealand and Australian Districts working together
to support malaria elimination projects in Vanuatu.
Both agencies are currently assessing what support could
be applied to help partner countries in our region recover
from the economic impacts of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Charter Meeting of the Rotary Club of Attadale On April 12th , 1982,
the Rotary Club of Attadale held its Charter Meeting with 33 members.
We have two of those Charter members still active in our Club today.
They are Mal Bennett and Winston Marsh,
who will share some memories of those early days.

The HoHHA WA team are collaborating with the Perth Get Scrubbed group
and we are achieving great results.
A large percentage of the caps delivered to Royal Perth Hospital
today were sewn by our members.
Below is a message from Tia Ozarczuk,
one of the doctors at RPH and a member of the Get Scrubbed admin team....

"Big thank you to all involved in producing the most recent 500x
box of scrub hats for RPH.
I just dropped them off to the nursing director who was very appreciative
. Trying to organise a group photo which we can share
in coming weeks!
Ps: you are all amazing I'm so proud to be part of this group!"

A partnership that has been called “sew amazing”
is helping Southcare’s frontline health workers
and our most vulnerable community members
 connect in colourful new ways.
The Rotary Club of Como has provided 70 hand sewn fabric masks
as a much needed care package for Southcare’s
essential health workers to use when visiting customers in their homes.
Director of Community Services, Como Rotary Club,
John Dodman (who is also the Chairman of the Southcare Board)
said supplying the masks was the right thing to do
particularly as the strain on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
resources shows no signs of abating.
“This is a new era of protection and connection and
so needed a special approach,” Mr Dodman said.

“My thanks go to Como Rotary Ladies Sewing Group’s
Barbara Dodman, Pam O’Garr and Heike Davey
for coming together and showing us what community connection
is all about,” Mr Dodman said.

Well done Como Rotarian Susanne Wakeman.
A great effort to coordinate the food pick ups
 and deliver to Foodbank,
which will be greatly appreciated. Community support
happening even in these COVID-19 times.

We welcome community interest in our projects.
Our club supports The Nokor Tep Women’s Hospital in Cambodia.
Their vision is to have a women’s hospital that is focused on
gyneacological issues and women’s cancers,
alleviating the silent suffering of women in Cambodia.

Tonight we held our inaugural COVID19 inspired eMeeting for our club.
There were about 9 of us online using Skype,
we had a few challenges with our connections that we will work
 through over the coming weeks.
Congratulations to Yvonne for winning the heads and tails,
next meeting we will be assigning our modified task list
and encouraging our new introductions of Rotarians with Guests or Pets
For those Rotarians who couldn’t make it we’d love to see you online
at our next meeting after Easter!

Flick an email to rsvp@rotarykununurra.org.au
for some help if you need it to get connected!
