 our latest member Peter Schulz,

Peter was accompanied by partner Morgan.

The team completed the induction process with their usual aplomb,

and we as a club welcomed Peter and Morgan to the fold

. This now takes our membership to 31,

The E-WA Rotary Wheatbelt Love of Reading project aims

to encourage school children to develop a love of reading

by supporting literacy programs in partnership

with schools, libraries and local councils.

We have been building this partnership in Bruce Rock and Narembeen

for the past 5 years or so.

It also serves to provide an opportunity for rural youth

 to participate in RYPEN programs.

Swimmers and local volunteers, by participating in the swim event,

make themselves known to the club for future nominations for RYPEN.

Local shires contribute towards the cost of the young people attending RYPEN.

This year E-WA Rotary has been successful in registering

our project with RAWCS so we can offer those who support

 the project tax deductible receipts

 AND matched funding

Fellow Rotarians can help by donating to the project

via the link above, spreading the word,

co-sponsoring a RYPEN applicant or joining us on our road trip

to Bruce Rock on Saturday 20th February.

It's a fun day and we love having extra hands poolside.

On Monday night Attadale Rotary held its first casual evening get together for 2021.

The annual picnic barbecue at Point Walter.

As most members were back from their holiday breaks it was well

attended by members, partners, friends and family.

The major highlight for everyone was the attendance of our very own

‘Wonder Woman’, Carole Maxwell and her friend Ray.

We have quite a few of our members regularly volunteer at the

Telethon Community Cinemas

in support of both Telethon and

Cahoots

.

By sheer coincidence of rostering, 5 of the 21 volunteers

working tonight were Beaufort members.

Well done Team Beaufort!

Fantastic night at

KBULG

for a sunset walk to the lookout and dinner in the park.

Rotary Club of Karrinyup

members were delighted to welcome Ryan, recipient of a

Vocational Educational Scholarship, to our meeting this week.

The scholarship is designed in conjunction with

North Metropolitan TAFE

to assist recommended students to complete their studies in the area of Aged Care,

Child Care or Disability Assistance. Ryan is seen here with his partner, Grace and

 Vocational Service Director Kay.

Rotary Club of Karrinyup

enjoying a quiet New Year drink in the lovely bush setting,

 notwithstanding rather windy conditions.

We had a very generous and thoughtful donation from

Rotary Club of Como

of 164 new backpacks filled with school supplies for the children,

ready to start the new school year ✏️๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ““

Rotary Club of Como have been a huge supporter of ours.

We don't know what we would do without their consistent generosity

 - we can't explain how grateful we are!
