Do you know any medical centres, hospitals or other healthcare providers

who have outdated equipment taking up space?

Maybe you're a practice manager or work in one of these locations?

MERC (Medical Equipment Recycling Committee)

 is a sub-committee of the

Rotary Club of West Perth

that collects and transports superseded medical equipment

in good working order for use in developing countries,

 diverting these away from landfill.

They help supply health clinics and hospitals predominantly

based in Asia/Pacific and Africa which provide health care

to some of the poorest people in world.

If you have equipment you'd like to donate,

please reach out to our club and one of our members

will organise the collection of the equipment

At the RCFB Christmas function 19th December,

President of the Royal Commonwealth Society, Terry Spiro

presented PRID Ken Collins with a Certificate of Appreciation

for his significant contribution to youth and the community

and for being an outstanding role model to their young members.

Congratulations to the Belmont Rotaract team

who raised all the funds for the sports equipment for 27 schools

in this isolated Province in northern Laos.

The staff were sent from all the schools to the District Centre

to receive the sports equipment.

The equipment includes skipping ropes, balls, footballs and nets

and other items to encourage children to play and exercise.

Very poor children received bags and all children who

came into the Centre were given socks.

It is very cold in Northern Laos at present.

A great catch up with Ron Cole, our last Foundation member, this morning

Those who joined in the cutting of the cake were

PP Simone Collins, PRID Ken Collins, CP and current Pres. Di Collins,

PP Jeremy Foster, PP Rajah Senathirajah and PE Max Hipkins.

As President Neil stated ‘it takes a lot of planning

to hold a great Christmas party to round off the calendar year.

A very big thank you first of all to Kerry and Abby Parsons

for holding it at their incredible home,

along with Vanda, Mal, George, Mick, and Erol, Joliene

and Angelica from the Parsons Philippine family

who all helped with the planning and during the night’.

The Rotary Club of Rockingham Board carried a motion to donate a $200 hamper

to be shared by the staff who are working at the Rockingham COVID Clinic.

We decided that these dedicated health workers deserved to be acknowledged

and thanked and they were delighted to accept our gift.

The Regional Weekender was a regional getaway

weed eradication and finished with REQ volunteers assisting

the mental health walk around Rotary Park

and a BBQ provided by the Margaret River Rotary Club.

A big thank you to Rotary of Margaret River for their fellowship and hospitality,

a special shoutout to Marilyn, Ley, Maxine, Fran, Julien and Brian.

We were down at the new Bunnings Midland cooking up a storm 🌭

A big THANK YOU to the generous mystery customer who donated $25

to pay it forward for the next 10 customers

at our sausage sizzle last week!

The chain reaction of generosity continued,

with many of the following customers opting to pay it forward again

or donate their money to our club.

 Generosity is contagious! ðŸ’«

We were able to raise $580 for our club,

thanks to all of our members and their friends who volunteered on the day.
