Sharing That Common Interest
!
In the month of June we recognise the wonderful opportunity
that we have as Rotarians to share in fellowship
and friendship through dedicated Rotary Fellowship Groups,
as part of the worldwide Rotary Global Networking Groups.
These groups allow individual Rotarians,
Rotarian spouses and Rotaractor’s
from all over the world to join together
to focus on a common interests.
Through these groups you can:
• Share fellowship and friendship with thousands of Rotarians.
• Meet other Rotarians with a similar hobby or vocational background.
• Share a common interest in worthwhile recreational sporting activities.
• Collaborate with Rotarians who are dedicated to a particular area of service.
• Explore new opportunities for service.
• Have fun and enhance their Rotary Experience.
Whether you are interested in golf, humanitarian service
or gourmet cooking you can
connect with Rotarians who share your interest.
Rotary Fellowships enable members
to communicate, exchange information and ideas,
and build relationships.
By joining one of the 70 odd Global
Networking Groups a whole new world of opportunity may open to you.

One of the best fellowship programs is the Rotary Friendship Exchange program.
This program gives Rotarians and their partners,
or single Rotarians the opportunity to experience other cultures
firsthand, by participating in reciprocal visits with Rotarians
from other countries and their families.
The goal of the program is to advance international understanding,
goodwill and peace through person-to-person contacts
across national boundaries.

Rotary Fellowships unite Rotarians to foster friendship,
international understanding, and service
in exciting and innovating ways that benefit the global community.

Subject: FW: SPONSORSHIP - INDIGENOUS STUDENTS

Hello everyone,
These Indigenous students will receive scholarships in 2010.
Unfortunately at this time we do not have Rotary Clubs
who are co-sponsoring them.

If clubs in your area can help out – it would be great.
The scholarship is $5,000 per year with half from the government
and half from a sponsoring Rotary club.

Thanks everyone,
Regards,
Joy

A ROTARIAN
A Rotarian is a person who digs wells from which they will never drink
A person who vaccinates children they will never meet
Who restores sight for those they will never see
Who builds houses they will never live in
Who educates children they will never know
Who plants trees they will never sit under
Who feeds hungry people, regardless of colour, race or politics
Who knows real happiness, can only be found by serving others

Quote of the Week

--------------------------------

SMILE!!!!!!!!!!

Be Mean to Accountants Week

When does a person decide to become an accountant?
When he realises he doesn't have the charisma to succeed as an economist.
-
Why did God invent economists?
So accountants could have someone to laugh at.
-
What does an accountant use for birth control?
His personality.
-
What's the definition of unlikely?
A photo-spread in Playboy entitled The World's Top Accountants - Nude!
-
What did the terrorist who hijacked a plane full of accountants
threaten to do if his demands weren't met?
Release one every hour.
-
The accountant's prayer:
Lord, help me be more relaxed about insignificant details,
starting tomorrow at 10.53:16 am,
Eastern Daylight Saving Time.
-
What do you call an accountant without a spreadsheet?
Lost
-
If an accountant's wife can't get to sleep, what does she say?
"Tell me about work today, dear"
-
How does an accountant make a bold fashion statement?
He wears his grey suit instead of the blue
What's an auditor?
Someone who arrives after the battle and bayonets all the wounded.

-
Laws of Accounting
1. Trial balances don't
2. Bank reconciliations never do
3. Working capital does not
4. Return on Investments never will

-
A fool and his money are soon audited
-
Accountants aren't boring people.
They just get excited over boring things.
