Rotary Club of Kununurra
Yesterday [June 4] was very special for the Rotary club of Kununurra.
On this
very weekend 6 years ago the whole Kununurra and Wyndham
community got behind
the 100 women walk fundraiser.
Yesterday the Rotary Reflection Lounge was officially opened
by Leonie Bailey
and Fiona Kuiper.
There was hardly anyone in town that did not help in
some way to bring this
event together.
The sole reason was to create to quite space within the Kununurra Hospital
where people can go when they need a quite space for contemplation.
Mark Phillips architects was the person who designed and coordinated
the
construction of this magnificent area at Kununurra hospital.
We as a club thank everyone who has contributed
and trust that if you do get to
use this area that it provides the benefit
to you that we set out to achieve.
This room is called the Rotary Reflection Lounge"
We with extra money from WA Health where able to create two areas
the extra one
to be used by people who have appointments
that necessitate a wait at the
hospital for long periods.
This is called the "Rotary transit
lounge".
We trust that these new areas at Kununurra Hospital
will benefit the community
and that future generations
will protect it so it is always available.

We had a wonderful celebration for
Foundation at last Wednesday's meeting.
The Club was proud to present
Foundation Chairman Pushpa
with a very large donation of $226,000
to The Rotary
Foundation “End Polio Now” campaign
, on behalf of our former member PP Fred
Morrison and Joy
who have now passed away.
It was a wonderful gesture on their
part and will certainly
make a difference to the End Polio campaign.
