Purpose
of this trip was to investigate the proposed work program
for the villages of
Samalari and Gau-Iui
including signing of the water agreements with the
Villages,
and the Project team of RAWCS 21-2011-12.
Also to investigate the proposed work at the
orphanage at Laga
including two new tanks and fixing the water supply to the
kitchen.
Visited the Sisters orphanage at Laga, they had a couple of
small problems.
The pump was not working,
it was only the circuit breaker had
tripped out and once we reset it
, the pump was working as per normal.
Sister’s
also asked if we could look at a water filter for them
as they are boiling
about 250 litres of water a day
and consuming a lot of fire wood that the girls
have to collect.
Tom is right the school needs refurbishment
we need to work though the work method statements with Tom.
Inspected the new school that the Loreto Order
consisting of
Sister Diaan Stuart ibvm
and Sister Natalie Houlinan ibvm
(http://loreto.org.au/breaking-new-ground-in-timor-leste/)
and Sister Natalie Houlinan ibvm
(http://loreto.org.au/breaking-new-ground-in-timor-leste/)
are building and the location that they are requesting a bore.
They also have a
major problem with their building;
the Building Contractor who is involved in
an internal conflict
within the business has stopped all work on the school.
However they are still very willing to work with us
and to promote the Rotary Wash program
and asked us to leave it to them.
Thanks to all.
Without these people and the participating
Rotary Clubs,
none of the above could have occurred:
* WFTHM group out of Victoria (Water for the hungry mouths)
* Margret River Lions Club
* Ted Evans
Rotary Clubs:
* Kwinana, * Palm Beach, * Rockingham, * Byford &

9 Year old shines on public piano
Ásta Dóra Finnsdóttir, on vacation with her family,
decided
to stop and play the piano in London’s Canary Wharf metro station.
The talented
girl from Finland is only 9 years old,
yet she doesn’t play a nice simple tune like
one might expect from a child.
She is soon surrounded by admirers enjoying her
lovely music.
