ShelterBox
again participated in the ScoutsWA Scouts Challenge Zone
at the Perth Royal
Show.
There was a lot of interest in the ShelterBox contents
and delivery to
people around the world who have lost their homes through disasters.
The addition of a photo frame for visitors to take fun photos
caused a
lot of interest.
Our display was staffed by WA ShelterBox Ambassadors,
Rotarians from various clubs, including
eWA, Roteract Rossmoyne, Roteract Perth
City,
a participant in the current Youth Exchange Programme from Italy,
Friends of the Rotary Club of South Perth-Burswood
and a young lady from Nepal
who was on duty in a hospital in Katmandu
when the earthquake struck 20 months
ago
so has first hand experience of the trauma of such a disaster.
The
Scouts are very proactive in assisting with ShelterBox
in disaster zones around
the world
along with local Rotary Clubs in the affected areas.
