towards helping our
environment.

the work they're doing her in Perth

Rotary Club of Como
At our Club meeting 23rd April, we were delighted to have
Fiona
Beermier, CEO and Sakina Bindahneem,
Coordinator Parenting Line at Ngala.
In
2015 Como Club established a 5 year MOU with Ngala,
providing an Education Fund
valued at $5,000pa.
This was reviewed after 3 years, and by mutual agreement
the funds are now being directed towards staff education
and development for
the very important revamped Parenting Line (PL).
This was previously dedicated
to supporting families
of children up to 6yrs, and has been transformed
into
now supporting families with babies and children of all ages up to adult
age.
In the last 12 months 14,448 families received phone support.
This
requires significant staff education in response
to the much wider family age
group.
Sakina provided an indepth explanation of the operation
of the PL. Fiona
gave a broad overview of the challenges Ngala face
and the strategies developed
to ensure they remain highly respected provider
of services to families raising
children.
Rotary Club of Como is a proud Community Partner with Ngala.

Tim Dawe organised an excellent
tour for West Perth Rotary Club members.
For those who could attend, the inner
secrets of Optus Stadium
were revealed by our well informed tour guide, Bruce
.
From the entry gates to the Skydeck we were shown the behind
the scenes areas
that only the players and employees get to see.
This tour is well worth
undertaking to learn about
the strategic placement of entry points,
services
provided and see some of the function areas
that are off limits for the average
punters
who will only get to use levels 1 and 5.
