The week from 3rd - 9th September was designated as National Stroke Week.

 Thousands of Stroke Week activities took place in communities
 across the country including information stalls and health checks
. Rotary supports this initiative in spreading the word and,
 as part of our service to the local Community,
 the RC Karrinyup hosted an information stall and free blood pressure checks
 by health professionals at the Stirling Farmers Market
 providing a valuable service to the local community

Scenes at the Primary Schools 4-way test Speech finals in which
 Sarah from Morley Primary was the winner
 and Jessica from Floreat Park Primary was runner-up.
  Presentations were made by Fred Marsh,
 originator of the 4-way Test Speech concept,
 and Pascal, chief adjudicator on the night.

Our Rotary WA project 
"Making Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder History"
 received recognition from our District with the 
Rotary District 9455 Indigenous Service Award. 
This project to provide education and clinical services to the indigenous

 and non-indigenous communities in the
 Leonora district for 2 years starting from 2019.
 The project management committee includes representatives of 
the Rotary Clubs of Osborne Park, Western Endeavour, Pinjarra, Kalamunda 
and Kalgoorlie Boulder with our international
 Rotary partners in Alaska and Bhutan.

News from our exchange student, Marianne in Argentina.

...“The National childrens day is the 19 of August here in Argentina
 where the people celebrate the youth of Argentina.
 The INTERACT club of Villa Maria, organised a project for the young children
 of one of the poorest neighbourhoods in Villa Maria. 
The event was held last Sunday in a community centre where
 we decorated the place with balloons. 
Rotary provided food and drinks and a lot of businesses donated presents.
 We played a lot of games with the children, there were face painting stations
, game stations and competitions where the kids won small Lolly bags
. Over 50 kids went with their parents and overall it was a very successful project
