West Australian Districts 9455 and 9465 were chosen as the joint recipients
of the 2019 Dick White District Achievement Award.
Over the past 5 years these Districts have been working together more collaboratively,
especially on larger Rotary programs – such as Australian Rotary Health.
There have been Mental Health Forums held in Geraldton, Mandurah and Esperance
, to name a few
, and information has been shared between the Districts freely and openly
. Information about major ARH Fundraising events is also freely shared
and ALL Rotary members in Western Australia are invited to take part.
Over the last two years they have had a joint ARH Forum
to “Lift the Lid” on Mental Illness –
open to and actively supported by both Districts.

And is a testament to all the hard work achieved
by PDG Jerry Pilcher and PP David Honeychucrh
well done guys

District Governor Wayne Milnes had the pleasure of Inducting Alan Thomson
into Rotary at his official visit to the Rotary Club of Ascot
It was a long time coming for Alan as with his Partner Bev
(who has been Rotarian for many years)
Alan has attended 16 World Rotary Conferences
a number that very few Rotarian's around the world could match!

Tonight we have the pleasure of re- welcoming Sarah Heckingbottom to our club ðŸ˜Š

Simon Polli from Coles in Kalgoorlie was awarded a Paul Harris fellow award
from all three rotary clubs in Kalgoorlie Boulder.
Simon has been a great friend of rotary, most memorably Australia Day events.
Congratulations Simon, we wish you all the best in your future.

Last Saturday, Rotarians from Matilda Bay Rotary Club
enjoyed a sunny morning mulching at the memorial gardens.
Thanks Chris Oakley for the photos of budding roses and Rotarians.
We look forward to photos when roses are in full bloom!
Thanks to all who attended and worked on the garden!

Thanks to Marilyn Williamson for making an amazing cake for VG's birthday.
We were all very happy to share.
A very appreciated birthday gift was an Australian Akubra hat

To help celebrate VG's birthday we had past exchange student
Felicity Morgan (Belgium 2014) attend the meeting
. She was put on the spot by President Mark
to do an impromptu spot as guest speaker.
members of the club were very interested to hear how her life is going.
Felicity told us about her work for Corsaire Aviation which she is loving.

POLLINATORS
We met with Leader Angie West last week at Pollinators
in Marine Terrace joined by Natasha Colliver Chair/Secretary.
Their building is full of Geraldton’s past history
and has now been restored to a fantastic working HIVE!

Pollinators Inc is a member-based social enterprise founded
as an Incorporated Association in December 2010 in Geraldton.
Being a social enterprise means they operate like a business,
generating more than 60% of their revenue from paying customers.
Using a mix of earned revenue and grant funding they are able
to achieve our social mission and grow thriving regional communities
 while remaining financially resilient.

The Very Reverend John Shepherd taking us on a visual tour of Rome
and telling us of his experience as the Director of the Anglican Centre in Rome
. Entertaining as always. Great to have you back John!
This was a perfect evening to also welcome Guiseppe Pantano
from the Italian Consulate in Perth.

It was very encouraging too for our student nurses to see Rotarians and guests
pitch in after dinner to raise almost $2,000
to help them start a couple of mobile clinics in South Africa
