Let's Shine Brightly - Only 2 Performances

It was a lively and interesting meeting this evening with
 the District Governor Graham Peden
and DGE Dee Buckland both visiting.
DG Graham presented President Mark with a Certificate of Appreciation
to the club for funds raised and donated to the
Rotary Foundation's End Polio Now campaign.
The campaign by Rotary to eradicate Polio is very dear to Mark's heart
as he is a childhood polio survivor.
DG Graham then spoke to club members about various aspects
of membership recruitment and projects of Rotary in our communities
 both local and international.

District Governor Wayne Milnes and Assistant Governor Peter Warren
were our guests at the dinner meeting this week.
Wayne shared the Rotary International President’s vision
 for the coming year
and talked about the need for Rotary to be more visible
 within our local communities
and to be a more family friendly organisation.
Rotary is the largest service organisation in the world
 with 1.2 million members
but we need to share our stories and develop our public image
 to better serve our community.

We also had Isiah and his parents, George and Kerry, as guests.
Isiah is part of the Rotary STEP (Short Term Exchange Program)
and will be travelling to Germany over the Christmas break.
Isiah briefed us on what was involved in the program
and how his involvement in
RYPEN (Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment)
had assisted him.

WOW!!!! $18,000!!!!

What an amazing effort.

With the support of our very generous sponsors and keen players,

the 2019 Katanning Police and Rotary Club Charity Golf Day
raised $9,000 for Katanning Volunteer SJA and $9,000 for KREAC..

Awesome effort.

. that's another $18k that will be injected straight back into the community
by the beneficiaries through various means...

Thank you all very much for your generosity and support.

Rotary Club of Kwinana Industries Cup Last Friday
Yvonne Rate, Martin, Colin and Gail represented
the Rotary Club of Attadale in the Kwinana Industries Cup
which was run by the Rotary Club of Kwinana
and the Kwinana Golf Club.
Despite the very wet and windy weather we had a very enjoyable day.
We were nearly up there with the winning scores
 but not quite close enough.
Yvonne won a bottle of wine for Nearest the Pin.

This year the Rotary Club of Ascot's Annual Melbourne Cup Breakfast
was held in the home of Ros And Gerry McLernon.
It was a lovely setting with a delicious breakfast.
Breakfast was followed by fun and merriment
as the Lego horses settled, then galloped around the breakfast table.
The field of horses raced hard with fierce competition
except for Mike Bermann's horse seen speeding around
the track the wrong way!
The stewards are investigating the Bermann stables.
Michelle Kendall and Michael Metcalf won the 'best hat' competition
with Gren and Jill Courtland, and Bev Poor were the Raffle winners

pulled up outside to serve us a delicious dinner.
Thanks to everyone who came along, it was a wonderful evening!
