One year ago today..
. our official Club charter night!
What a fantastic celebration we had, surrounded by family and friends,
as well as Rotary members from other clubs along to support us.
(And the after-party at Hula Bula bar was pretty memorable too!)

Katanning Police and Rotary Club met with SJA and KREAC today
to formally hand over cash raised at the 2019 Charity Golf Day.
Each beneficiary received $9,200 that will be injected straight back
into the Katanning Community through assorted projects
. What an absolutely tremendous effort and thanks again
to everyone that made this day special, especially our favourite
AFL stars Nic Naitanui & Michael Walters
who spent the whole day and night with us.

 and Mark Irwin Mayor,
Lotterywest and Rotary Club of Karrinyup representatives
at the opening of the fabulous new undercover arena (great work Rosco!)
 — at RDA Carine.

Rotary Club of Karrinyup members were proud to attend the opening
of this fantastic new undercover arena
 at RDA Carine this morning.
Led by our resident Builder Ross and one of our many Engineers Stu
, the club was integral in providing the leadership, advice, consultancy
and technical expertise to convert RDA's need into a proposal
that could be submitted for both approval and funding.
and the dream today became a reality.

The big event was the opening of the new all-weather arena
for Riding for the Disabled at Carine,
a project which has taken many years with many setbacks.

Be sure to watch the video
where they actually give credit to Rotary for once.

The Kununurra Rotary Club are a proud supporter
of the new multi-sport shed that was officially opened this afternoon.
The shed is named Matt’s Shed- in thanks to the organiser Matt Fletcher
who had a vision and made the shed happen.
This shed allows 5 large sporting groups to keep all their equipment
 in one easily accessible place.
No more lugging equipment in and out of cars
and storing equipment in club members’ garages, it is all in one spot!!

Sausage Sizzle Colin reported on our first sausage sizzle for the year.
We sold 790 sausage sizzles and 207 drinks
and made a profit of $1402.05 including $94 from donations.

THANKS to everyone who turned up for our working bee
at Foodbank WA headquarters this morning!
As a change of pace to our usual breakfast club events,
we decided to roll up our sleeves and help Foodbank pack food packages
for those in need. It was a great way to give something back,
with lots of fun had by all.

What a fantastic meeting last night.
We had a presentation from Dakota Manley, Youth Council Mayor
about her appointment and role.
Dakota was accompanied by her dad, Bodean Buckingham
 and Kalgoorlie Rotarian Esther Roadnight.
The club also presented the Youth Council with a cheque for $1000
for projects this year and we look forward to hearing
 updates throughout the year.
$540 of these funds were donated to the Club by the Goldfields Oasis Open Day
a few weeks ago thanks to Gold Coin donations on the door,
once again, money going back into the community.

We also had a visit from Past President Bill Cavazzi
and Past President Brian Henneker.
Great to see you both last night.

and how our recent donation is helping.

Robyn Cleaver introduced Caleb McKenna,
whom our club sponsored to attend the 2018
National Youth Science Forum (NYSF)
. Caleb last spoke to us on his return from that event.
This week, he related how this experience was a beginning
and indeed a catalyst for a whole series of opportunities,
which continue to come his way.
He repeatedly expressed his gratitude to the club for the enabling him
this initial opportunity which has had so many long term effects

/ why we do what we do.
Thanks Terry , Judi and Jono for help with the organisation

The club conducted its annual Willetton Senior High School Awards Night
last evening, for years 10 and 11 students in the categories
of Academic, Arts, Sport and Community.
Additionally, there was an award for Teacher of the Year.
The details of the achievements by the students were presented
by the Year Coordinators and the Associate Principal presented
the same information for the teacher nominee.
The Rotarians and the parents and family of the award winning students
in attendance, heard uplifting resumes of the levels of excellence
that the students and teacher had attained and the club offers
its heartiest congratulations to the awardees.

That was one of our best meetings indeed...
The Family Buffet at the Hilton by Perth Rotary
. We laughed, we danced, we learned and we had so much food.
High energy and passion by our incoming and outgoing
Youth Exchange students Laura and Caitlin.
...and also Bruce who danced the Samba

and we all followed on stage dancing with him!
Definitely a meeting to be remembered by a Club to be joined!

During a Vocational Visit to the Foster Share Shed
in Mandurah last week, Club members inspected
the site of the new facility supporting Foster Care children in the region.
RC Mandurah Districts has been a great supporter
