In the December/January 19-20 edition
of the Rotary Down Under magazine,
is an article discussing the achievements of
the
Willetton Senior High School Interact Club in 2019
and they are very
impressive!!
At the Spinnaker Foundation Award
Ceremony,
President Stuart Clark on behalf of the Rotary Club of Fremantle,
presented a cheque for $15,000 to Dr. Shereen Paramalingam.
The donation was
for her research into Whole body PET-CT Scan
to diagnose and manage mysositis.
It was part of a $22,000 donation to the Spinnaker Foundation,
raised at the
Annual Golf Day run by the Rotary Club

Julia, from our link school Warwick Senior High School

very much looking forward to broadening her perspective
by experiencing life in
a different culture.
On behalf of the club, Trish presented Julia
with her
coveted green Australian blazer, which at this time has no badges!
Each youth exchange student has to
attend a local school whilst here
and Paul from Germany got to experience and
be involved
with his Year 10 Graduation night at KDHS
. Helping with
planning, decorations, the video and also received a wonderful school report.

Thanks to everyone who donated to the
Cans for Christmas appeal on Sunday.
We just received the results from Foodbank
and Mosman Park collected the second highest amount
- over one tonne of food,
which was 53% higher than our previous record!
Thanks to the local families who
volunteered and had a great time
with their kids, distributing flyers and
hunting for donations

for Christmas Project!
Our ROC Stars have been out and about collecting and sorting bags of food
donated by residents of Claremont for Foodbank WA
to distribute this holiday season.

Stuart introduced our favourite
maritime historian Chris Frame,
who told us he had just returned from New York
having completed an Atlantic crossing on the Queen Mary 2
to commemorate 100
years of Cunard crossing the Atlantic ocean.
During the voyage, the QM2
sustained hurricane Force 12 winds
with all the grace of a queen.

Rotarians Chris, Tom and Mel at the SJ Shire's volunteer lunch,
celebrating the
experience with lots of other
community groups and supporters.
Our sausage sizzle was a huge success at Bunnings Whitfords
considering the heat.
A big thank you to all of you
who supported us.
We also did some doggy sitting for those who
didn't want to
leave their dogs in the car.
Here are the wonderful Como Rotary
Ladies Sewing Group,
enjoying High Tea hospitality kindly put on at Tim &
Heike Davey’s place.
The Group was established to meet regularly at Carson
Street School
, and over past 8 months, many clothing items have been made
and
sewn for the children.
Additionally the Group sell craft items made for
fundraising,
with a recent $1,000 donated towards the Carson St School Bus
Project
from their craft sales
at the East Kalgoorlie Primary School

very excited to present our
annual International Women's Day Luncheon 2020.
We
have some great speakers
and are supporting some amazing charities

Lucy Saw women shelter empowering Chicks
