It was a joyous occasion yesterday evening as we reconvened
 our meetings post-COVID shutdown
with a meal at Marg's lovely home.
We had great pleasure in welcoming Anne to membership,
joining husband and Past President Ross on the members roll.
The induction was performed by Club Service Officer Bill
 and President Mark.

Wonderful news from Fiji this week advising that ROMAC patient,
Gabriella, who was treated for a serious heart condition

is recovering well from her surgery.
Gabriella, who is now 6 and a half months old, is a happy,
healthy baby and a budding All Blacks supporter!

This interactive session will allow us to reflect on
what we've been through in the last few months
and secondly, it will enable us to chart our future course together.
We want to explore how REQ should evolve,
amidst a changing Rotary community and shifts
in our work and our membership.
Over the next few weeks you’ll be hearing from members
of the Board re some proposed changes to REQs operating model.
We encourage open and honest feedback ahead
of the all club session on June 17.
Draft Agenda:
1. Opening message
2. Break the ice
3. Experiments and the future
4. Simulations
5. Wrap-up and drinks

While we are still restricted in our activities,
it's a good time to search through your drawers
to find your spare foreign coins.
Rotary will be collecting them at the District Conference
so once we start meeting face-to-face again,
bring your coins along to a meeting and place them
in the collection bags that all
 Rotary Clubs will have available.

collects between $4000 for $5000 each year
from this project and whilst many of our clubs understand
that this year may not be as successful, we can all do our little bit

Did you know that the very first Rotary Club in 1905 had no dues?
Instead, they agreed that all club expenses would be paid from $.50 fines.
In today's dollar, that fine would be just over $13.
By 1915 Rotary International was on the verge of bankruptcy
and it's then President Frank Mulholland
suggested every Rotarian contribute $1 (just over $24 today),
and hence the concept of annual dues was born.
That $1 raised enough funds to make the organization whole,
and thanks to the institution of dues RI has not suffered financially since.

Matthew once again will be participating in the

to raise funds and awareness for the homeless people in Australia.
This will be his 4th year and the Club has supported the cause ever since.

On June 18th he’ll be sleeping out in the cold for 1 night
to help those less fortunate than us.
Usually those participating will sleep out at the WACA
but due to COVID-19 the he'll instead be sleeping out his backyard.

A big thank you to everyone who supported Matt’s
Vinnies CEO Sleepout last year!!!
Once again fantastic support from the Clubs family
and friends and together $3,533 was raised towards
 helping homeless people in Australia.
 Over 116,000 Australians are homeless,
having to sleep rough out in the cold.
This year Matt due to covid-19 he will be sleeping out in his backyard
to raised awareness and funds to those less fortunate than us.
If you’d like to donate the Matty’s fundraiser for the homeless please visit:
