Is your Rotary link school participating in the 2022
District 9455 Conference Art Competition?
The art competition is taking place NOW in Term 4.
Schools
have until the end of their school year to complete the artwork.
What format will the competition take?
The artwork will be in the form of an A2 poster.
Students are invited to investigate a West Australia
Aboriginal artist that they like and present
an informative poster about the artist.
Please have a look at the specifications in the
Rotary District 9455 Art competition – schools’ letter
that came attached to an email to club presidents back in August
or see below.
Who is the competition for and who decides who
will enter?
The poster competition is for art students in Years 7 to 10.
Schools will decide how many students will participate and,
if possible, build this into their program for Term 4
or it can be done as a
private activity at home.
How much will it cost for your link school to
enter the competition?
Cost to the Rotary Club = $100.
If you have
more than one link school the fee will be discounted.
Please look at the details provided in the
Rotary District 9455 Art Competition – Letter to Rotary Clubs
which was emailed to club presidents back in August
or see below.
There are some great prizes on offer including art materials
and the opportunity to participate in a masterclass
with an established artist.
Please get behind this reconciliation initiative.

contributor to our club for the entire 42 years
Very appreciative to receive funding support from @Lotterywest

It is satisfying to know that every time you play a Lotterywest game

such as the JacFest that delivers a fantastic, family-friendly day
of fun and entertainment in the heart of
Applecross Village.
What a night of stories taking us back to a time
when a Polio was rampant in Western Australia.
It was an honour to recognize the remarkable people who,
against all odds, helped eradicate Polio in our own back yard.
A collaboration between the Rotary Clubs of Crawley and Perth,
our Liquid Gold in the Outback Polio Dinner was in support
of Rotary’s End Polo Now Campaign
and the fight
to eradicate Polio in the remaining two countries.
Meeting of the RC Freshwater Bay was our Pride of Workmanship Awards.
Speaker and recipient was Dr. Andrew Miller,
AMA President during the peak of the Covid-19 epidemic
. Andrew did an excellent job of keeping the Government
on track during this extremely challenging period.
Our second Pride of Workmanship Award recipient was Enya Warde,
Manager at Tee Box Cafe, Lake Claremont Golf Club.
Enya prides herself on giving good old fashioned customer service
and loves nothing better
than to see all her happy customers filling the cafe.
Heartfelt Congratulations to both Andrew and Enya for all you both do
in your own special capacities for people and our
community.

are
enjoying contributing to a very worthwhile project.
Last month we joined forces with Perth Rotary - Western Australia
and Rotary Club of Matilda Bay for a Rock v Sport Quiz Night
at the Parmelia Hilton Hotel.
It was a great night where the clubs and guests mingled, tested their knowledge,
won prizes, dressed up and bid for fantastic sport memorabilia;
adventure experiences, art and jewellery.
The collaboration was a success and a great advertisement
for the Australian Rotary Health Fund and Rotary in general (225 tickets were sold!)
The event raised $5000 towards the Australian Rotary Health
and $1350 towards
each clubs' community Projects.
Huge shoutout to our very own Jules Jardine as MC
for the
night and thank you to everyone to attended on what was an amazing night!
In July this year Attadale Rotary joined with the Bicton Men’s Shed
to collect blankets etc for those mainly struggling without homes
and in need of warmth.
This project was a huge success and incredibly is still ongoing.
The appeal has been supported by wonderful people across the metropolitan area
and the publicity that was originally given by
Capital Community Radio 101.7 FM
Wireless Hill, Ardross has been fantastic.
Wongan Rotary held a successful Auction night last night.
Raising funds to assist many charities and needs throughout the area.
