Dear Club Officers,
We are seeing an increase in donations activity ahead of the end
of financial
year and thought to provide you the various ways to donate early.
The methods below apply to both Club or Individual donations
to the Rotary Foundation,
whether as part of the Centurion, Paul Harris Society (PHS),
Paul Harris Fellow (PHF), Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY)
or other programs; and to the Annual
Fund, PolioPlus or other funds.
1. My
Rotary is the quickest and most efficient
way to donate:
·
it is the most secure option
·
allows donors to self-manage their
giving
·
provides very significant cost
savings in administration.
As club
officers, you can use MyRotary
to donate on behalf of the club or on behalf of its members.
This is usually done through an officer’s personal
credit/debit card.
For individual
donors, the
How to Donate Online through MyRotary
guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to create
a MyRotary account and make contributions –
please share this link with your members.
Note that:
· credit card and bank account details should never
be sent to us by email – it is a major security risk
– use My Rotary instead,
· if donors need assistance, they can email
and request a call back – for example,
we can obtain their credit card details
by phone,
· credit card donations processed from 1 July cannot
be counted as FY22 giving.
2. EFT is the next best option after MyRotary – see our
· funds transfers received in our bank accounts by 30 June
will be counted as FY22 giving,
· please email risppo@rotary.org when transfers are made,
nominate a fund (such as Annual Fund)
and a member
distribution list if appropriate,
· it takes 6-8 weeks for our banks to trace unidentified deposits
and, if we cannot identify these by the first week of July,
the contribution cannot be recorded as FY22 giving,
· to download a list of members and their donor IDs, go to
MyRotary/Club & District Administration/Reports,
scroll down to Club Reports/Membership/Rotary Club Members,
then click on View List.
You can use this Excel spreadsheet to provide us the
contribution breakdown when you email us about the EFT.
3. Cheque donations can be sent to our office but kindly
send these well ahead of time.
All cheques dated and postmarked on or before 30 June,
and received before 6 July,
will be recorded as FY22 contributions.
Posting contribution forms is safer but delivery time is very
unpredictable.
PHF Recognitions are arranged by completing the
and emailing it to risppo@rotary.org.
Please note that:
· the current volume of PHF requests is very high
and the backlog is over a week,
·
postal delays are beyond our
control.
Meeting cut-offs dates, especially for fiscal-year end,
is required for compliance with accounting
standards.
Other forms that you may need are available at the bottom
of the page under Key Resources/Forms on the following link:

Thank you.

There are now Rotary clubs in Queensland and Victoria
who have paid for and received sunflower seeds.
The good news is that the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations,
through their Humanitarian Aid Initiatives Director, Diahanna Senko,
wants to get their youth to sell the packets of seeds around Australia.
Diahanna is in touch with Guy Glenny, RAWCS Project Manager
for the Ukraine Appeal, and
they speak on a regular basis.

FOODBANK WA HAMPER PACKING
The spread of COVID through Western Australian communities
has severely impacted the number of regular and corporate volunteers
across Foodbank WA’s five regional branches
and the Perth Centre for Hunger Relief.
Since April, Rotarians have stepped up to help pack pantry staple hampers
along with various other bundles such as coffee and tea packs,
and hygiene packs amongst others.
Matilda Bay members have done seven shifts,
and Heirisson Rotarians have also done two mornings
with another being scheduled -
just to mention a few of the 30 groups!
Hundreds of hampers and bundles are prepared each shift
meaning those most vulnerable in our communities
around WA are being
helped.
Bill introduced our guest speaker for the night,
Kenneth Bruun-Schmidt Dorrens who has just completed the Bibbulum Track
. Kenneth was a Rotary Exchange student back in 2002 being sponsored
by the Rotary Club of Swan Valley
and his host parents included Bill and Sue Scanlan, Terry and Leanne Cusworth
and Peter and Holly Edwards and he remembers this year
as one of the best in his life.
He did not realise how much it changed him until his return to Denmark
and the feedback from family and friends
. He liked the country and its people so much he has returned 5 times
including an extended stay where his wife
did a tertiary qualification
in Journalism at Curtin University
An excellent presentation last night's meeting (11th May)

the Club works with would like to have a Peace Pole.
The number is 6 at present with more requiring
follow up.
All will be followed by comprehensive emails by two members,
Greg Acciaioli and
Delia Hendrie in the very near future.
Thank you again AG Jeremy.
