Rotary Club of Quairading
Long standing Rotarian Calvin (Cal) Leeder passed away
after
a short period of hospitalisation on Friday April 17th
Cal has been unable to attend Rotary over many Months
due to
his illness
and one of his last attendances was when DG Angus
awarded Cal his
PHF Second Sapphire
and 50 Years of Service Certificate in Quairading
on the 1st
September 2014.
Cal is survived by his longstanding Partner Nancy McClymont
and Step Son Roy McClymont.
Cal as you know has been a continuous and loyal Rotarian
of
the Quairading Club since his induction
into the Club not long after his
arrival in Quairading in October 1964.
Subject to only a couple of brief
years,
Cal was Club Treasurer from 1973/74 until he passed
on the
Treasurer’s baton to Grame Fardon
in 2009/2010.
Cal was a “Corner stone” to the success of the Club’s major
fund
raising activity over many decades being the “Widow’s Woodpile”
or Wood
Supply Service, not only taking the Orders for Wood,
but accounting for all
monies and delivering countless trailer loads
of firewood to the needy and to
the Club’s paying customers.
Rotary and the Quairading Community has lost a dear friend
as he has been called to “Higher Service”

A man plays Pie

The game is a bit like Russian Roulette,
but the worst
that can happen is you could get whipped cream
thrown on your face.
It’s a
simple slice of life,
but the laughter of these two is so infectious,
it will
leave you with a smile on your face!
