is highly regarded by the staff and promoted extensively by the Hospital.

Rotary Club of Southern Districts

SISTER CLUBS –
My Rotary Club (Tempe Rio Salado) here in Tempe, Arizona
has established a “Sister Club” relationship with the
Rotary Club of Southern Districts in Western Australia.
 To commemorate this international collaboration,
we had a banner made and presented it to Southern Districts.
The first picture shows members of Tempe Rio Saldo
getting ready to ship the banner to Australia.
The second picture shows PDG Phil Cordery
and President Robert De Prato
showing the banner to the membership
of the Southern Districts Club in Australia.
Tempe Rio Salado now has four Sister Clubs around the world –
two in Australia, one in Italy, and one in Pakistan.

Rotary Club of Mundaring

Raising The Roof

The Rotary Club of Mundaring recently gave new meaning
to the expression ‘Raising The Roof’.
The photo depicts members of the club in the process
of erecting one of two gazebos built to commemorate the efforts of local
and more distant fire brigades that fought the disastrous bushfires
in Parkerville, Stoneville and Mt Helena on 12 January 2014,
which destroyed 57 homes and damaged many more.

The magnificent efforts of the brigades involved,
over three hot and windy days, prevented even more devastation.

The shelters were erected using funds from the Rotary Club of Mundaring,
the Rotary Club of Swan Districts along with a District Grant
 from Rotary District 9455,
a Natural Disaster Recovery Fund Grant from the Westpac Bank
and with invaluable support from the Shire of Mundaring.

The shelters are positioned on the path that the fire
took on that awful day and will stand as a reminder
that we should be ever vigilant,
as it could all too easily happen again if we become complacent.

Note: The Kelpie is there to nip the heels of anyone slacking off!
