An International plea for help from
 Rotary Districts 2451  2452
Disaster Relief Egypt
Lebanese Red Cross

Teams will enter Lebanon in early June to Distribute food parcels

Dear Rotarians, District team members,
Club Presidents and Honorary Secretaries,

As the Rotary year is coming to an end
and with almost one month left
our Syrian brothers and sisters are trapped
on the borders of Lebanon in need of food.
Twenty partner organizations are currently working
with the UNHCR to assure the food security
of about 1.2 million targeted people,
including women and children, in need.
Rotary is still not one of those partners yet.

And although the food security partner organizations
were able to secure food for 82% of the targeted population in need,
there is still 18% suffering from hunger and scarcity of food,
which amounts to 216,000 Syrian refugees according
to the latest report from UNHCR.
The District 2451 Disaster Relief Committee (Egypt)
 and Dr. Rami Finge,
Disaster Relief Committee country chair, Lebanon (District 2452)
are collaborating to arrange for Food Packages
to secure the needs of a number of Syrian refugees
in cooperation with the Red Cross in Lebanon.
As Rotarians, we chose to get involved and
we are hereby calling upon Rotary clubs in the two districts
and anywhere in the world to donate to secure basic food
 for families in Ramadan.
We, as Rotary representatives,
will be delivering the food packages to the needy familie
in late May/early June and we will be escorted
by Red Cross staff to the refugee camps.
The food package cost is $ 35,
components and cost of each item are included in the list attached.

We rely on you, so Lean Forward and Help Humanity!

Sahar Sobeih
District 2451 (Egypt)
Disaster Relief Committee Chair
