The RC Mandurah
Districts received a CITATION of APPRECIATION
from the RC Colombo South,
Sri Lanka
for the significant contribution made to the
Pathology Equipment
& Training Project,
that was completed recently.
The Rotary
Foundation project supplied rapid detection equipment
for infectious diseases,
and training of 23 laboratory technicians for hospitals
in the north and
central-south of Sri Lanka.
PDG John Kevan,
who recently returned from Sri Lanka,
presented the Citation of Appreciation
to
President RC Mandurah Districts Geoff Winton,
on behalf of the RC Colombo
South.

informative presentation
by Leslie Brown and Constance Chipper of Gilmore
College.
After giving an outline of the recent successes of 2018 Year 12
students,
these ladies then spoke extensively about the school's Sustainability
Program.
The program is part of the Waste Wise Schools project,
and covers
gardens, waste, social handprint, litter, transport and water.
Our

Kalamunda Rotary meeting last night,
with the alumni of local high schools
sharing their stories
about how Rotary’s Tertiary Education Scholarships
were
helping them go for gold in their studies.
The sewing sisterhood has been busy.
We’ve just packed our second set of 50 kits
of feminine hygiene packs to post
off to Bougainville PNG.

Last night the Rotary Club of Moora held its Foundation dinner
an important event in the calendar with 60 guests who enjoyed
a meal and fellowship at the bowling club.
The special guest local man Phil Gardiner was the guest speaker.
Many years ago he was given an opportunity by the Rotary Club of Moora
to attend a business school in Switzerland which in turn then gave him the skills
to succeed in business.
It takes a village people to raise a child and that culture
makes regional living more exciting.
His message of equal access socially is a thought provoking one.
he was very grateful for the opportunity given many years ago

our Inbound Rotary Youth Exchange student, Felix,
has become quite the West Coast fan.

Warwick Senior High School he ran into old boy
and premiership player Mark Hutchings!

Karina has returned from her year in Denmark with Rotary Exchange
. She joined us last night to share her experience,
the difficulties she faced arriving in a country not being able to speak the language.
Karina learnt so much about herself and had the greatest experiences of her life.
Now she is studying Occupation Therapy at Curtin university
