To International Directors Rotary

I have just been advised there is going to be a market
at our original venue on 7 April where we were hoping to meet.
Melville Council has advised there will be no local parking
and not a lot of room so
I HAVE MOVED THE VENUE to BURSWOOD PARK

Could you please advise me if you and/or other members
of your Rotary Club/friends/family will be attending
as I require numbers for catering purposes.

Burswood Park is a great venue and the facilities are excellent.
See photo below of proposed area.
I am aiming to hold one of the four Gazebos,
 (unable to reserve),
the area is near the toilets and Open Air Cinema
 and adjacent to the river.

There is a football match at nearby Perth Stadium,
Fremantle Dockers v St Kilda - it is at 3.20pm
so should not affect our event as far as parking is concerned.
Burswood do close the entry at Resort Drive
but are unable to tell me at what time,
if is is closed you can enter via Bolton Avenue - see map below.
You may like to join us at 11 am and go to the Football afterwards!

We are looking forward to seeing you and some
of our ShelterBox volunteers and friends.

Kind Regards

June

The official opening ceremony for the new Nature Scape Children's Playground
was held at Boronia Pre Release Centre for Women
. This was a joint community project between the Rotary Club of Como
and Soroptimist International South Perth (SISP)
, with wonderful support and contribution from the Manning Men's Shed (MMS).
This project is a great example of collaboration in our local community
 between Boronia/Como Rotary/SISP & MMS,
which has provided a children's facility to significantly benefit
the female inmates and their children,
as part of their rehabilitation in returning to the community.
The inmates were highly involved in the planning and design of the Playground,
which provided significant skill development opportunities,
and has multiplied the initial joint $10,000 donation
to over five times.in value for the completed Playground.
A great outcome for all concerned in our community
