President Ross welcomed DG Charles Johnson,
guest speaker Dr Tim Elliott and wife Lexi.

Thanks to the team who turned out to help with our cleanup in Maylands
Interesting “loot”: thongs, caps, golf balls, plastic cups and bottles
and then this chair which was trying to swim down stream.

We’re proud to have done our bit to push this along.
It may not be something we see every day
but knowing someone somewhere has an opportunity
at a better life is worth all of it

Winning team Paul Rumenos and father Lou:
A great evening was had by Rotarians, partners and friends.
Much rivalry was seen on the greens but all in good fun.

up from the airport today.
They bring heaps of experience in dealing with FASD in Alaska
and will be sharing their experience with us at the

Our Passages Youth Engagement Hub in Peel held their open day on Friday.
At least 20 services, as well as representatives from the City of Mandurah
, visited and met the Passages team
, learning more about our work engaging with young people
. With services working together, local youth in the Peel region
will be able to access the level of support they need in an environment
 where they feel comfortable

Fellow Rotarian Senator Dean Smith was our guest speaker at Rotary this week.
He spoke about his life and his passion to represent the interests
of the community in the Senate.
Despite his heavy travel schedule, Senator Smith is always happy
to return back to his hometown of Perth.

Global Hand Charity, which works in humanitarian, sanitation, medical
and educational programs in several SE Asian countries since 2007
is affiliated with RC Mill Point.
Last Friday, March 29th saw Global Hand Charity host a business lunch
 at the Parmelia Hilton Hotel.
Attended by many leading business people and Rotarians
– the lunch speaker was former Federal Minister
for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defence – Assoc Professor Stephen Smith
who gave attendees an insight into the impact of the current trade wars
between the USA and China will have on Australia.

Global Hand Charity Chair and PHF Mark Horwood
said the event was a huge success being a sell out and the money
required to buy a portable Refractor for the next
Global Hand Eyecare project in Sri Lanka.
The new machine will allow our GHC Volunteers to test eyes
and provide glasses to an extra 1000 people a week to be able to see.
Mark and his team are happy to attend Club meetings
to talk about this amazing RAWCS project.
