Interplast recognises the vital role nurses play in providing positive health outcomes
for all patients and is committed to improving accessibility to high quality
nursing care across developing countries in the Asia Pacific region,
through the provision of training,
mentoring and ongoing education for nurses in our partner countries.
This vision would not be possible without our incredibly dedicated
Interplast volunteer nurses who give so selflessly within their own communities
and to their international colleagues and patients
. Thank you for all that you
do

Community Services Coordinator at Churchlands Senior High School
Christina Kolodij, and was honoured recently in recognition of her work
in inspiring and training her students with a positive, balanced approach to life,
which involves community service.
For the past two years she has encouraged her students to
volunteer their time to support our Stirling Farmers Market.
Christina organises and trains them to provide us with assistance,
always with a smile setting up, cleaning tables and packing up the market.
Without this support, the Rotary Club of Karrinyup
could not run our weekly Stirling
Farmers Market.
Additionally, during the Rotary WA bi-District Conference
in March of this year, Christina spent hours organising the students
across the entire
weekend to provide support for the conference.
Exciting times ahead for Swan Rotaract Club!!!
Charter President Tom has filled in the application to Rotary International
to charter the prospective Club.
Can’t wait for their inaugural Charter Night

South Bunbury Rotary, Rotary Down Under 750km
Centenary Cycle Ride - DAY2
Today we had a 68km scenic ride from Busselton to Margaret River
through farmlands, vineyards and forests
. The route took us along the coastal path to Dunsborough
where we paused for a coffee at the bakery.
We then rode through the Wilyabrup area,
a sea of gold and russet autumn vines.
We pulled into the park in Cowaramup for lunch amongst the "cows"
- a big thank you
Glenda Lynch for the tasty quiches and sausage rolls,
which went down a treat
. By early afternoon we had arrived at the overnight stop at the
RAC Margaret River Nature Park.
The Margaret River Rotary welcomed us into Margaret River with
a splendid afternoon tea at Rotary Park.
The Park provides a lovely recreational area beside both
the forest and the Margaret River
. The Margaret River Rotary Club have been involved
with the development of facilities
at the park since the early 60's and the installation
of a heritage steam engine
‘Old Kate’, has been a particularly special achievement for the club.
Club President, Brian Middleton, praised our
riding team's fundraising efforts
for Perth Bushfire relief and the Margaret River Club
has generously contributed to the fund
- THANK YOU. A highlight of the afternoon was talking to Herbert Gale
who is a few months away from celebrating 60 years as a Rotarian
in the Margaret River Club
- awesome achievement Herbert! Tomorrow we start the
hills!!!!!!
Last night we held our “Pride of Workmanship Award”
presentations.
All four awardees were nominated by Maddington Toyota.
Congratulations to Christine Jecks, Robert Landsmeer, Jason Gorard and Marcel
Brazer.
Phil Preedy Operations Manager accepted the Award on behalf of Marcel Brazer
as
he was unfortunately unable to attend.
One of the programs we are proud to partner with, along
with other Rotary Clubs, is treemission.
treemission is a joint project between National Trust of Western Australia and
Rotary
to inform Rotarians and their communities about the environment
Helping to conserve endangered plants and animals, rehabilitate degraded land
and lower carbon levels in our atmosphere are just some of the things
treemission does with the help of volunteers and sponsors.
Thank you once again for helping feed everyone today
, sorry we missed saying goodbye when you left
Thank you to everyone who helped us last Sunday
at our Bunnings sausage sizzle.
The crowds kept coming and it was an outstanding effort by all.
Special thanks to Chris and the Interact students from
Mt Lawley Senior High School. Well done everyone
