but we still had a great night.
Thank you Bruno Fic for being a part of it again this year.
You
and Tracy are always welcome.
Students at Churchlands SHS are engaged in community services projects.
Recently the school donated to our community service team's SOS
for items of winter clothing.
Most of
the collection was distributed to the needy in the City of Stirling.
Among donations received from the students and the school
were beautiful, knitted teddies and blankets.
International Director Sandra delivered these to the delighted volunteers,
who organise the toys and blankets to go with each
wheelchair donated from
RC
Scarborough's Wheelchairs For Kids.
Wheelchairs for Kids is a volunteer-based not-for-profit organisation
providing the gift of mobility to children in impoverished and
under resourced communities both in Australia and around the globe.
Along with a new wheelchair, each child receives a toy and knee rug.
RC
Karrinyup has long been an ongoing supporter of this wonderful
project.
The volunteers were delighted with the gifts from the school
and commented on how beautiful and well made the teddies
were and how excited
the kids receiving them would be.
Students and staff were invited to visit the workshop to see the
wonderful work performed by all the volunteers at Wangara Wheelchairs for Kids.
In place of of the regular weekly meeting, members of the RCFB enjoyed
a social evening at the Bentley Pines Training restaurant.
