The Kimberley is one of the world's last great untouched wilderness areas,
and the best way to see it is from the air!
And not just from the air, but from the comfort of our E190 jet.
The experienced pilots from Cobham have put together
a very special flight over the natural wonders of the
remote Kimberley.
Only a percentage of the seats are open to
ensure
that everyone gets a great view (even the ‘restricted’ seats!),
as we
complete the scenic flight between 4,000~5,000ft.
The flight departs at 7am, perfectly timed to
witness
the soft morning light rise up over the landscape.
All profits go to BlueSky and the Rotary Club of
Kununurra
who both support a range of important community service projects!
Treating yourself has never been so good for the community!
Seats are strictly
limited so don’t wait - book now!

ROTARY IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA
DAY AT THE ZOO
organised
by the Baldivis Rotary Club.
To
be held on the fourth Sunday in October (24th of October) 2021
I attended an event earlier this year and it made me think that
we don’t meet each other very often.
This is because we are all busy with our own projects,
bits and pieces and the like.
We do have our assemblies but they are often regimented and
while they offer some chance to mingle its still quite limited.
With that in mind I have been considering setting up a day
where Rotarians, Friends of Rotary and Families of Rotarians
from both districts in Western Australia
can meet and mingle.
Where we will have no set activities just wear
our Rotary shirts and say hello.
It took me a while to work out where we could hold this get together
and I finally
realised that Perth Zoo would be ideal.
As the zoo is not for profit, does tremendous conservation work
in Western
Australia and is a fantastic place to visit it ticks a lot of boxes.
Also
the easiest way we can show our support is to go and visit the Zoo.
By paying entry and having a day wandering around we can support the place
by our entry fee and then telling our friends about how the zoo has changed.
Then suggesting they might like to go and see for themselves.
I believe a lot of
Rotarians will not have been to the Zoo in many years.
You can, if you want, bring your partner your family and friends.
There is no set time to enter the zoo just in their opening hours.
You can bring your lunch or
buy it, same with coffee and drinks. Completely up to you.
This is a day just to celebrate being a Rotarian
have fun and maybe make new
friends.
All that I ask is that you wear something that shows you’re a member
of a Rotary club and if you see another Rotarian just stop and say hello.
You will never
know who you might meet or what they and their clubs are doing.
On the practical side in starting to set this up I talked to our
district insurance officer and he has a couple of requests before he will say yea or nay
(This is fine by me better safe than sorry).
The main one is number of attendees
so I’m asking if you can announce this at your meetings
and get a rough number of people who would be interested in going then
let me know.
Another
is to remind attendees that rides may not be covered.
On the day I will have a box at the information booth
where I ask that Rotarians coming fill out a slip with their name,
Rotary club and number of people in their party and put in the box
. Partly for insurance purposes
(To show they were there) but most importantly to give me
a count of how many have come.
I would also like a photo op on the day so if people could gather
on the lawn
near Zoo HQ at 11-00 AM for about 10 minutes.
Imagine
how that could be used promoting Rotary in WA.
I
hope you will please help me by letting your club members know.
I
intend this to be an annual event.
Many
thanks
